the serial number is without ''B''.

@Sonorus Does yours say what revision number it is? 1.0 or 2.0?

    Well i am not sure!
When i upgraded to usb gen 5 i took a photo of the board but it is now deleted.
So can't say about about the revision number.
But the caps were definitely the gold ones.
I am a little busy so can't find the time to open the dac again but now you
    guys have aroused my curiosity....

I was going to upgrade a Gungnir DS.. then I saw the 190+ queue. Got a bonus from work so I bought a new one. Will be nice to compare D/S to Multibit.. also, you know I'll be taking a picture of the internals to share :)

Here are some updated impressions of Gumba:

I expected things to sound slightly better coming from the Gungnir Multibit, but it's much more than that. I think every aspect of it is improved, especially the black ground. Most of all though, it sounds natural or true to what you might hear if you were sitting there in front of the artist. It's always been noticeable that you're listening to something digital with Gungnir Multibit. With Gumba, I find myself getting surprised, confused, even spooked out at times that sounds so life like are coming through a set of headphones. The experience is immersive and has the ability to cause my jaw to drop. There's been a few times now where things sound so realistic that visual images of the artist singing or playing the guitar manifest in my head.

There's not a doubt in my mind that this is better than Gungnir Multibit.

    But Gumba? Seriously?

Is this what we are calling it?

@westermac came up with it a few pages back. Based on likes received, seems like a good amount of people approve of it.

    Gungnir Multibit A2?

I mean, there's only 2 vocals to swap if we're going to keep the pattern :p

I like this idea but it doesnt do so well to differentiate itself from lower case b in search results.

I don't like this because it looks like a typo and will just read confusingly to anyone not very familiar with Schiit DACs. Gumba, Gungnir Multibit A2, Goomba or what ever is all better.

Anyway... Gungnir Multibit Please. The other makes you sound retarded.

It's like network speeds. Which is better? MB/s, or Mb/s?

Gungnir Multibit A2 doesn't any less or more dumb to me than Yggdrasil A2. Maybe G2mby, but I dunno how to pronounce it.

I like the "A2" designation that schiit likes to use for Yggdrasil. so just say "a2 Gungnir Multibit"

Hopefully the fight about names (seriously?) will be over by the time I upgrade from my Gundis or whatever we're calling the D/S.

Gungnir Multibit A2 and Yggdrasil A2. I wouldn’t even go with the nicknames, but Gungnir and Yggdrasil are too long.

My preference for what its worth.

‘Course I don’t think I should get to be the guy who determines this.....

I didn't write anything down when I had the Gungnir Multibit A2 a few months ago, so just a few points I remember from memory.

    - Tonally is different from the original Gungnir Multibit. Leans more neutral and if you have built a system around the original (like myself) it may even sound a little bright (I had to use my warmer tubes with my ZDS). Similar to the original Yggdrasil in this regard.
    - Excellent blackground like the Yggdrasil A2. Excellent bass slam, not as bloomy as the original Gungnir Multibit could be sometimes.

Since I wanted something closer to the original tonally I decided to use that as an excuse to really upgrade my system and returned it for a Yggdrasil A2.

I agree Gungnir Multibit A2 is probably the clearest/simplest way to go.

My particular Gungnir Multibit A2 is named Gumba
