But it's spiced rum. Isn't that usually of the lowest quality?

Only if it’s a low quality spiced rum. :p Spiced doesn’t always mean low quality.

I prefer spiced for cocktails, as it offers a wider variation of flavors.

Dark or aged rum has no business being mixed. Three fingers, no ice. Please & thank you.

Get some Johnny Walker Red Label if they have it. It's rather expensive but worth a try.

The best brewery I’ve ever been to is in Boise Idaho, it’s called Barbarian and most of the locals don’t even know it exists. It’s tii bad they don’t distribute.

Patrone is good but pricey I've been into good tequilas these days.

Not quite my tastes, like Flor De Cana 12 better, but still good. To expensive though.

Been enjoying this guy for a while. Terribly inexpensive for the sip and fairly decent for a dark rum. It's a touch sharp initially, but the finish is smooth; surprising for how young it is.

I've gone a bit the opposite way. Good tequila with a beer chaser.

Wow, totally Pancho y Carlos! (Old, dingey hole in the wall in California wine country bar where you might find vineyard workers drinking and playing dice or liars poker with rich kid winery owners).

Brugal 1888 rum. Pretty good, and at $39.99 not too pricy. I wanted to get my Flor De Cana but the guy at the store said he couldn't order it, out of stock, but recommended I try this. I like it.

    Just returned from this
In SBAF terms, definitely mid-fi, no Pappy's or other exotica, everything < $100/bottle; but more interesting whiskeys to try than I had the ability to consume in one sitting. Four Roses Small Batch, Nikka Pure Malt, Bowmore 12 Yr Old, Maker's Mark 46 & Barrel Select, Old Forester Statesman, Aberlour A’Bunadh Cask Strength, Blanton's Single Barrel, Macallan Double Cask, Dalmore 15 Yr Old and one of the Woodfords. Couple others I'm forgetting.

Biggest disappointment - the Makers Mark 46 - not terrible, but their Cask Strength is much better if you're gonna spend something above their standard Makers Mark.

Champ of the evening - Laphroaig 15 Yr Old. Damn but I like me some Islay.

And this is actually not bad... $15 for a handle and actually ok... Better than Tito's.
