Olympic gold medalist wrestler and current MMA fighter Henry Cejudo lost his gold medal and almost his life in the last set of fires earlier this year. His tale is pretty crazy and harrowing in addition to be a good lesson to anyone else with approaching wildfires. It happens FAST.

That’s how Sacramento has looked for weeks. The Sun was orange yesterday. I saw a bit of blue sky about 11 this morning. The shiity air is kicking up my asthma, and who knows what in Redding . I have family there.

Stay indoors. If your in the area. This stuff is to toxic to your lungs and heart. @David De Lucena please give us a lesson.

On the plus side the smoke has made it far cooler. Forecast for today was supposed to be 94f and it was 87f instead.

That’s sad! Indeed those kind of gases and fumes can cause severe pulmonary reaction and some people with asthma and enfisema should really stay indoors.
Long exposure can lead to mental confusion and death if the CO levels are high.
Eyes and nose can suffer in the same way.
If this kind of smoke don’t go away, I really recommend something like this if you really need to breathe outside And like the Darth Vader style

Wow!!! We are fine. Just the worst air I’ve ever seen. North of us has an AQI of 190.

The Medicino Complex Fire is North of us. When the wind etc. combines it’s bad air. Overcast with smoke.

Edit: The thread should be named California on fire. The Medincino Fire is now the largest in CA history.

I saw this yesterday and several debunked and shared a source. This is just the effects of a beautiful sunset in Hawaii.

This first one was taken this afternoon. The orange haze outside is surreal (no filter)

Tonight we could see the flames coming over the hill toward us

We just got back from three weeks in CA with a lot of cycling in the Sierras. The smoke from the fires was very heavy in some areas. Turns out that a lot of what we were cycling last week has since been devastated by the Donnell fire.

This beautiful area off 108 has been burned...

Historic Dardanelle shop & restaurant destroyed. The owners had only been there a couple of months & were so friendly, totally gutted for them...

Here's what it looks like now... :( https://www.modbee.com/news/article216154210.html

The fire is reportedly on its way to Kennedy Meadows now :(. Natures way of reminding us that she's in charge I guess.
