That's what I was thinking. I was surprised after the Early Bird backers that the next step up was only $50 more. He really is trying to bring a high ratio of value for money with his debut.

Believe it or not, but profit is not the main goal of that KS campaign. No doubts, that without help of a community Verum 1 could only exist in a form of several prototypes.
Main goals of that campaign:

1. Funds for automation - moulds, stamps, ordering parts in bulk etc.
2. Receive hundreds of happy clients at once (at least I do believe in this).

Paragraph 1 gave me possibility to produce what was advertised. Paragraph 2 will give me reputation. And only after fulfilling KS orders I can think about profit,margins,dealers etc.

 

@Garuspik If only more Kickstater campaigns led with that mindset versus the "Get Rich Quick" mindset KS would be a much better platform. Good on you.

 

Sure I want to get rich Who doesn't? But, KS is not the solution. It's like the first step, springboard to the established business. That's why it's vital to have 500+ (by now) satisfied clients. It's simply not profitable not to meet expectations.

 

That's the difference between a short burst of richness and being rich for a long time

 

There was a 5th update (click HERE) showing the metal from the last update being cut into parts for the headphone. Happy to see the progress even before the KS ends. Here are the pics:

This also means that, when you are an elderly headphone magnate of huge wealth and success, you can release the unexpurgated, uncut, redux, director's-cut, etc etc etc editions. Don't delete the out-takes!

I guess I'm doing something wrong... right after the update where I've shown some progress 16 backers dropped.

 

I don't think it's your update's content that caused them to drop per se. You're getting towards the end of your KS campaign and the update just reminded the looky loos that they were going to have to actually pay up. There are drop outs toward the end of every campaign, don't let it diminish your accomplishments so far.

Nothing to see here I guess, other than that I've been sharing the KS with friends. Hoping to share the miserable wait, followed by the excitement of getting them with others. Looking forward to it!

 

It happens in every campaign and there are always lurkers (like myself) waiting to fill the empty spots of the former early backers to save some coin, so you'll lose some backers and win new ones or people will try to get the early bird spots. I have saved several euros just buy managing my pledge in several items. This was back in the day when KS actually didn't have such a big number of scammers and bad products.

People drop for a number of reasons, obviously the main one is they start realizing they actually will have to pay for the item(s). Things may have changed during the month and they may not be able to afford it anymore.
