I'll continue to be posting the lying updates that Larry poops out (I've been asked by a moderator to do this). They'll be given exactly the respect they deserve, which is little to none.

I do hope and request @zerodeefex can please have a chat with Larry sometime soon and give us a real sense as to what's been happening, minus the bullshit.

I would imagine that the best hope for honesty would come from @zerodeefex. I really feel terrible for the backers of this nightmare. I did put 2 calls out to attorneys that I know, waiting to hear back. Doubt they will have anything else to add, everything has been said already, multiple times.

Honestly, I really check in on Larry to see how he and his family are doing. That's my primary interest here. I doubt I'll get anything you aren't getting from Jarek via the updates since it sounds like he's genuinely plugged into the details of this stuff.

So it's bye bye bot? And he even managed to get one sympathetic post out of me. Not sure how that happened, but hey, there's a human side to everything.

I'm sure @Kunlun's update commentary will be... fitting and appropriate.

Got an update email on the Geek Pulse DAC out of the blue from LHL this morning. Not specifically related to the Wave, but whilst the first half is the usual stalling crap, the (unusually honest) 2nd half about funding is pertinent, and almost sounds like an admission....

    Hey everyone,

We know you've been waiting for news over this so here is the status of the boards:

These PCBs should have been done by the end of last month. Currently, our PCBA factory has 80% of the components and empty boards. They are still waiting for us to send the rest of components.

Unfortunately, we need some more time to buy these components. After they receive all components, they can finish all the boards up in 25 working days. The boards will be finished in one shot.

As mentioned, due to the nature of crowdfunding and production costs associated with these campaigns, much of our cash flow to finish these projects comes from our parent company, Light Harmonic. Light Harmonic pushes cash flow to LH Labs whenever possible.

At this point, we have no exact date on when the rest of the boards will be completed, but we are working on obtaining funding to complete the campaign. We'll update you whenever possible over developments.

    The entire LHL team

Interesting is that the last two paragraphs were not mentioned in the updates for the Wave and the VIDac (which were also sent earlier).
But i guess this has also impact on those two "campaigns".

At least it seems that they have some money left to hire another software team which needs to take care of the Android part for the Waves.
    Ya ya....

Hi Markus. Hope you're doing well mate. Yeah it's hard to believe anything that comes out of LHL, though the fact that Larry hasn't just folded the company does suggest that he either intends to keep working at this stuff, or perhaps more likely that he doesn't want to undermine Light Harmonic as a going concern. Meh, anyway for completeness, here's the Wave update from yesterday...

    Hey everyone,

    1. As previously discussed elsewhere, the Wave is now a dual operating system; Android for Tidal and other streaming service/functionality and the original custom OS for Pure Music mode.

Please note: Android implementation is NOT delaying the Wave beta units. The Wave beta will focus on the original OS for Pure Music mode. We will add the Android part later after we confirm the customized Linux version for Wave.

    2. We've hired a new software team to partner with. They are starting on Sep 15 and will help with the Android side of things.

    3. We expect to remove the remaining software bugs and wrap it up in 30 days. Then we will enter the finalized software beta on Oct. 15.

The original expected beta unit release was the beginning of October - that has been pushed back at this point due to software. The expected release date for beta units is mid-November at this point.

    4. The hardware is basically done. We are not expecting anything to change at this point but will if needed from a software perspective.

    5. The three major remaining parts on software are:

    (1). Bluetooth music transmission

    (2) WiFi streaming/NAS and HTML web interface for remote control

    (3) SD music file access

    6. We will have another update by the end of September for the software progress after the new team has joined us.

Thanks for your patience on this project. We're working as hard as we can to make it the best we can for our backers.

    The entire LH team

It's his hobby? Kickstarter Indiegogo finances guy sitting at computer and workbench for four years, trying to make stuff?

If it was indeed Kickstarter then we would have fewer issues. Indiegogo is a bit more of the wild west in terms of their rules...

As someone who got burned by the "Aware" bearable Kickstarter from United sciences I'm not sure.

LH Labs has put out another update. They have no idea what they're doing:

    Hey everyone,

We have an update regarding the Wave. Our last update mentioned that we would enter the finalized software beta on Oct. 15. This has been delayed due to unforeseen software circumstances. The remaining issues are the same, and we've provided some details regarding their current statuses below:

    1. Bluetooth music transmission. Still debug the music playback intermission.

    2. WiFi streaming/NAS and HTML web interface for remote control. WiFi streaming causing too much power consumption and HTML rendering needs some optimization.

    3. SD music file access. Optimized the index speed for large file numbers inside SDXC card.

Below is an example of what we're referring to. Bill is our team lead we hired that we mentioned in the previous update.

We are currently seeking another team and man power to help with the development of customization version of Linux. Larry is meeting with a new team tomorrow to discuss the project and possibly hire them if they can take on the project.

At this point, Android development is also ongoing. As we mentioned before, we now have TWO force work both on two kind of OS system at the same time. It fits the current market demand, and also will help if one of two plans scheduled is too late.

If Android development is finished before the Linux Pure Music OS, we will build the Waves with Android as to not delay things any further. Then we will have the option for backers to update their Waves to the Linux Pure Music OS when it's finally ready. It would be done via USB interface. Also, we have another backup plan: that is to send out the Wave for backers who

don't have WiFi and Bluetooth options. This is related to different hardware configuration vs software version control and we will finish that part soon.

On that note, if anyone knows of any good Linux developers or would like to assist us with the Linux software, please send us an email at [email protected] with your full contact information and/or the developers' contact information and any background information you feel we should know. We'll be happy to review and discuss with you/them the opportunity to come on board the team.

We'll put out another update when we have something to report over this project.

    LH Labs team
