What show are you watching now?

Watched Ozark last night, first 3 episodes. Opening episode was insane. Definitely worth checking out.

 

The wife and I are on episode 5 of the 2nd season, we both love the show. Dark but with humor.

 

Ozark

 

Better Call Saul is pretty solid. Not quite as heavy as Breaking Bad, but it seems to be getting darker over time.

 

Been watching Transparent with my gf lately. Just finished season 2. It’s been mostly very good, and I can tell she really loves it. One of her best friends is a trans woman, and it seems to do a great job showing the journey and struggles of coming out and becoming trans. There have been times where things seem to get a little too silly, especially early on with the son, but it’s balanced pretty well with more serious issues and heartwarming moments.

There are 4 seasons of the series so far with a 5th season in the works. The unfortunate thing is this is another series where the central character’s actor (Jeffrey Tambor) has been accused of sexual misconduct and won’t be a part of the show’s final season. Definitely curious to see how things turn out with this series.

 

Second season starts off slow, but by around ep. 4 it's all on. Male/female, youths/adults/old folks, all good strong roles.

For me that one is far too much like being at work.

 

Not the most popular choice, but Designated Survivor is something I'd give a try. Really enjoyed it once it got going, and it's nice/weird to see Keifer Sutherland behind a desk!

 

Has anyone else seen Counterpart?
Really good acting, and an interesting storyline. Can be a little slow at times, but not bad.

 

Pretty good show, took me a bit to stop thinking of Keifer as Jack Bower though. Don't know if you know, but Netflix has revived the show for a new season.

It really does have some solid acting and a decent concept as well. But you are correct, it can be slow for sure.

 

Agreed. But hopefully some of the new shows coming out in the next month or so aren't train wrecks and will hold us over until then.

 

This Country, UK show, saw an episode on the plane and had to watch everything.

 

I'm watching the new Netflix show, Maniac. Very quirky and engaging. I'm not sure where this story is headed, but looking forward to finding out.

 

I'm enjoying it as well. It feels like a cousin of Legion. Accurate depiction of psychoses, something I haven't seen that much.

 

Rewatching Psych for something light and fun. My GF enjoys it which is always a plus.

 

My wife and I have been binge watching Orange Is The New Black on Netflix, and we're really enjoying it. After this, it's probably going to be Ozark

 

Norsemen. Very much like being at work...

 

Also watching Maniac, reserve judgment so far depending on how they tie things up but it's certainly inspired. And Emma Stone and Jonah Hill are stellar actors in my book.

I've heard good things about Ozark, might try that next.

 

I live in Asia and don't really keep up with all the (too many) new shows. While back in Canada for a couple weeks, the residential hotel we were in didn't have cable and there was only access to a Netflix account (possibly a past guest's?). My wife stumbled upon The Good Place which was hilarious. Watched the first episode of Designated Survivor which looked interesting. Started watching Maniac late one night before falling asleep and was like WTF? These were all random viewings.

 

Daredevil season 3 is out.

Definitely binged it already.

No regrets.
