Harbeth could be tops for Private Parts style shenanigans.

Hell no! By introducing synergistic vibrations in microphones all speakers would sound like Harberth ;-)

would you rather eat at a popular expensive restaurant that serves microwaved crap on fine china with a golden spoon or eat a hot dog on the sidewalk?

Myself and @Xecuter have tried Ampeggios in the same room pushing well over 90dB. Bass excursion was noticeable, but the rest sounded more than fine going loud as hell.

They’re trashy and expensive. Can’t be used up close as nearfields that have a semblance of bass, fall apart further back when the bass is bad and inconsistent. Kii are just lofi poop

Yep, but looks like Voxativ has a decent direct presence on Audiogon: https://www.audiogon.com/users/voxativ. Interestingly, I just saw their post for the AC-1.8, whereas the driver used in the PAP Trio 15 is the AC-1.6.

At RMAF, @HitmanFluffy mentioned that those with meager financial resources could do worse than a set of http://www.audiosolutions.lt/products/figaro/figaro-xl, which is probably the closest you'll get to an actual endorsement of anything short of the Ampeggios.

You’re complaining about cost in a thread about overpriced but decent speakers costing thousands of dollars. If you’re eating Hungry Man, Massdrop may be accessed at www.massdrop.com

I got to hear the Amphion 7 floorstanders off an accuphase cdt+pre+pamp system at a brit-fi show with some unfamiliar 80s rock recordings.

I'd agree these speakers were pretty mid-fi and overpriced, just not the worst offenders out there.

Bass kicks were hollow, stuff like edge on strings and the guitar string squeaks were there but muted
The stage got muddle quite easily and the imaging and layering were half decent. It was a definite V with some mid emphasis and presence dip if I remember correctly.

They didn't have the bloat which almost everything else at the show had, had better dynamics than half the stuff there.

Decently fast transients but the dynamics were kind of limp, the PMC room nearby absolutely destroys them when it came to dynamics, but those had fewer but still pretty bad issues for 45k speakers.
The fact that these had better dynamics than most of the crap says a lot about the state of brit-fi.

they've got hungry-man X Massdrop? niiiice. The stew "beef" better be slightly blue-ish colored. and the head bands should fail at inopportune times.

Stauffer’s is too good for enthusiasts from Reddit. Same with those cheesy peanut butter crackers. Massdrop x Dunkaroos collab needs to happen for the manchildren.
