Received today after missing UPS yesterday (Why do they come after 5PM?).

Unfortunately, I'm on my way to work & won't be able to listen until tomorrow night.

I just opened the package & found what I thought might be a nick by the arm of the bracket...was this here previously?

 

Hmm...

There is that fitting/grub screw (?) that rides in that channel, and that's been there, but not sure if the edge blew out on the outer cup side. I'll have to take a closer look once I get them back, or if others care to speculate or comment.

No worries though, have fun listening and thanks for the heads-up.

 

If there are any chipped wood pieces in the package, you can use super glue to put it back. Super glue works really well on wood. If done well, you won't be able to see the fracture.

 

I didn't inspect them closely enough to say if that was present or not for my stint; though I do know the earpads were either flush together in the case or on my head; no extraneous rotation in either direction.

However, if during the course of the loaner there occurred damage which reduces the resale value of @captkirk's Auteur I'd be happy to chip in to help cover it; he definitely should not be penalized for loaning out his own personal gear for our benefit.

 

Ditto for chipping in, no chips were noticed during my stint either.

That is the area, it's by the "pin" that stops the rotation.
Just let us know once you get it back.

 

I bet @zach915m does headphone repairs. I'll pitch in for a service visit too...

 

I’m on the chip in list as well. I don’t recall them having the grub screw grove elongated quit that much.

I have Kirk's Auteur now. I haven't cracked the box open yet, but I have messaged @zach915m about his offer for an Auteur tune up. So hopefully Kirk will have a near virgin, when he gets it back...

It made a quick stop to get some sweet tender love from @zach915m. He repaired an itsy-bitsy blowout on one of the rotation slots, and hooked it up with both pairs of fresh pads. Booyah!!!
