Good grief. I'd be so sick of this shit if I were them I'd just pack it in and take my lumps. Hell, jail would be better than grinding myself ever deeper into failure.

IT IS TIME TO DESPAIR, LARRY.

LOL I was happy because I forgot that LH Labs existed, now I see that "update"

Move on, when I was 18 I lost 800€ (that was almost my entire month payment working as a waiter in summer) trying to buy a "high end" TV from Alibaba (of course I was scammed, and even followed the guides of "how to buy without being scammed" before buying). I lamented my stupidity a couple of weeks, but saved a couple of months more and bought an actual TV at a local store for 600€, I didn't even care about Alibaba for a second when I watched porn or some stupid shit on my new TV.

This is more or less the same, you guys will never get the promised product, it's healthier to assume reality, spend money on something that does really exist and stop caring about this BS.

Let's play The Game. Whenever one thinks of LH Labs, one loses.

@Kunlun - while we all like to see the hideousness of LHLabs laid bare as a warning for the future, using coloured text is cruel and unusual:

This train-wreck disaster show is brought to you, at great expense, by Kunlun and other customers backers. You might, at least, enjoy it!

How to treat your backers, featuring Darth Vader as LHL.

Another six weeks with nada. Guess their crowdsourcing of Linux developers hasn’t worked out. So...does this mean no Wave for Christmas?

i was one of the first few people in the world to get the fist batch of Geek out and Geek pulse. It was a ripoff. the worst sounding dac ever in my experience andthe headphone amp in geek pulse was an insult (im talking about the top tier model not the base model). and lies and lies. proudly now from all that i bought from them, only thing that remains is a lightspeed 1G usb cable and that one is a rip off too. i had two and i cut one open to see and it is indeed a 2 dollar cable that they sold for 50 to me and for 150 to some other suckers. also the people that were there in their forum were some of the dumbest i have encountered in this hobby and that's saying a lot. my point being that the people who are still waiting on them in 2018 kinda deserve it. i mean after the first geek pulse came out 14 months late you should have taken a listen and realized that you are losing out to 20 dollar chinese dacs. but they kept selling 3d renders to people for years after that.

Umm, I'm not happy with them either, and my Pulse is no longer in my system, but if memory serves me correctly the Wave ordering was done long before the first Pulse was ever delivered.

Looking back at my files, the last thing I ordered from LHL was at the end of 2014, while the first piece of LHL gear I ever received (the crap-o-matic Verbs) weren't until March 2015. After the Verb fiasco I wouldn't (and didn't) send them any more $.

So understand some of your points, but it's a revisionist history to say that most of us were falling for LHL's tactics after actual products (beyond possibly the original Geek Outs) landed with customers.

i remember distinctly when on their original forum i made the point that giants like apple simplify the number of configurations and models not just to bring down the production cost and maximize profit but to facilitate testing reliability and troubleshoot. so there is literally no reason except greed for a small player to spread itself thin. I pointed out that it took them months to finalize the design for the pulse face-plate and it is still not in production. at that time people were picking between 3 different configs for their waves and later on their vi dacs all based on 3d renders. so you can make excuses but you are a grown up man who bought into hype based on those ridiculous paid reviews that their original dac got in darko and part time audiophile and positive feedback. I realized i was had exactly when they started selling the second product while the first was delayed and i was so quick to sell my pulse before people realized that the larry ho dedign chops are nothing but hype that i actually made a profit selling that aweful ESS 9018 dac that had no right selling for half the indiegogo prices anyway with its supposed femto clock and dual mono design.

the above makes it sound like my main beef is with the delays and broken promises, but it is not. my main beef is with the quality of the product and its sound, if it sounded good i wouldn't have been writing (i hope it is the correct structure for future perfect tense) the above now.

My base, (or "vanilla" as it was known then, iirc) pulse is still one of the better 9018 implementations I've heard even close to the price. Admittedly a low bar, but eh, I didn't expect much. Didn't use the amp section at all until very recently, but I can only say it doesn't do the dac any favors, though I've certainly heard many worse. Still use it daily in my speaker setup, which is admittedly el cheapo and not particularly resolving. And enjoy it! Sounds better with hd6xx than the 600, and from my old, beat-up x5 via coax s/pdif than pc via usb, but I've definitely gotten my $300 worth, so I'm making a profit now. But I am old and deaf, so there is that.

it is actually quite nice to know that it is working for some. i guess the only explanation is that it is subjective but to me the $100 Chinese Sabaj DA3 which used the same chip sounded magnitudes better. ostensibly better.

It just isn't an answer to say that their previous products were rubbish. I have a little geek out which I (yeah; half-deaf these days) consider quite fine, and wasn't the V2 said to be better?

And even if their other stuff was all rubbish, what do you expect people to say? "Oh, silly me! Never mind, I didn't waste my money: the product would have been bad anyway." You know, even if it is, it should have been delivered. Not a continuous stream of egregious bullshit.

Hah! Been wanting to use that word for ages. Thanks!

This is because you're deaf and/or have terrible taste. You've proven this over and over.

I think the GOV2, in all of its different incarnations, is an excellent mid-fi device. But you have to run it balanced to get the full benefit of it.
