MUT Moon hands down for me. Simple elegance with no clutter. I'm envious!

Well, the good news is that there's no wrong answer. Both are great stainless steel dressy watches that dress up or down perfectly.

I put mine on a burgundy strap with a deployant clasp:

    This is basically perfect.

One caveat is that this movement needs servicing every 5 years. It can get very messed up if you don't, that's important to consider. I believe it holds true for both watches. So, remember to treat it right and you'll have it all your life, which is pretty awesome.

Oh, and don't get the strap wet and/or use a natural leather sealant. It'll last anywhere from 6 months if you dunk it in pond scum everyday to 2 years+ if you wear it with care.

Annnnd turn the hands to 6:30 before setting the date or the moonphase, that protects the movement.

Don't bash it into a rock.

That's all I can think of for advice. Oh yeah, wear and enjoy it!

Any thoughts on a terribly gaudy watch that is still well made? I am wearing a very shiny maroon shirt right now, and need a watch to better for my wardrobe. I'm looking for something that may be able to be described as "bitchin", possibly gold in color. Not looking into buying anything yet, but getting an idea for what is our there.

You just convinced me to go for the blacked out version. Didn’t realize they started making inverted models.

Clean as hell, right? Looks so much better to me than the originals.

Totally agree. Supposedly the new screens are clearer than the older inverted models so should be a bit more legible.

Thanks man, so if I am not wearing the watch for a week..do you just remember to wind everyday to keep the moon thing in phase as well as the time? @Kunlun

I decided to go with Master Calendar. I think MUT moon is a bit too simple

You can either have a watch winder and keep it on that. Or, move the hands to 6:30am, and use a wooden toothpick (won't scratch the steel) on the little pushers on the side of the watch to adjust the date and moonphase, then just wind the watch using the crown about 25 turns and then set the time. It becomes easy with practice. The watch winder, even moreso.

Merry Christmas from my awesome wife: Garmin 5S Plus Sapphire. It's amazing what they can cram into a watch today.

Manual says not to adjust date or moon between 10pm-3am, outside of that should be fine right? doesn't have to be 6:30am

Your first watch has a triple calendar. That is more watch than most people can handle.

That could well be your last watch. There may be more in the middle, but going out with just that one would be no disgrace.
