Good to see blowers outside of the reference design. Haha, I didn’t realise you meant boat literally. I’ve always loved Lian Li cases, just great minimalist all aluminium designs. I finally got one a few years back, the A55B, it was the smallest case that could take a Full ATX board at the time. Couldn’t get the bloody side panel on with my old hsf though, so I upgraded to the Dark Rock TF. Smallest dual radiator dual fan I could find, and it got my ageing i7-920 over 4ghz with reasonable temps and noise.

I might go slimline eventually for TV use, or just settle on a console. One way or another though, I won’t be using that damned Steam Controller in it’s current incarnation. Great idea that needed native support and iron thumb knuckles to work well.

It was on clearance at Microcenter for $130ish IIRC

I just dismantled it or I'd snap a pic of the full thing. I ran water and built a custom reservoir for the thing to sit on so it was sitting on the water. Once I rebuild on air for my audio PC I'll post pics.

I also removed all the LEDs because they're hideous.

I just found my receipt. I paid up the ass ($200). It was not cheap but I love this case.

Still, I 100% would have dropped $200 for a giant aluminum boat shaped case. Let me know if you ever want to sell it.

Wow, that is a wild case! I like Lian Li too. I brought most of my main components with me when I moved to China but I did decide to try out some of the Chinese brands for case, cooler and components that are not known in the US. It was fun shopping in the massive computer markets. I was pretty happy with what I ended up with except that you seemingly cannot buy computer components here that don’t have as many colored LED’s as possible built into everything.

You had a boat-shaped PC case sitting on water and you didn’t snap a pic? What is wrong with you?!

Hard to believe I built this two years ago. Still top of the line... back then I didn't know a THING about audio! In fact I'm pretty sure back then I was using a pair of Sony MDR-7506 into my Samsung Galaxy s3.

Alright, since I stumbled upon this thread I guess I have to post my system/setup as well. I've been building PC's ever since my father introduced me to the idea way back when I was a small child. I still haven't gotten into LN2/DICE, Chillers, or Custom Water, but I've done pretty much everything else.

    --Desktop Rig--

    Motherboard: Asrock X99E-ITX/ac
CPU: Intel i7 5960x (Overclocked to 4.5 Ghz)
Video Card: Zotac GTX 1080 Amp! 8GB (Extreme! BIOS Flashed)
    RAM: 16GB Mushkin Redline DDR4 3000 Mhz
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G3 Modular
Case: Fractal Design Define Mini C
Cooling (AIO): Thermaltake Water 3.0 Ultimate 360MM
    Cooling (Fans): (4) EK-Vardar EVO 120ER 2200rpm (2) EK-Vardar EVO 140ER 2000rpm
Fan Control: SilverStone PWM Fan Hub (CPF04)
    Hard Drive 1 (OS): Samsung 850 EVO 250GB M.2
Hard Drive 2 (Large Storage): WD Black 2TB 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache (WD2003FZEX)

    --Peripherals--

    Mouse: Final Mouse Scream One
    Mouse Pad: SteelSeries QcK+ Limited
Keyboard: Ergodox EZ (w/ GMK Plum keyset)
    Monitor: Acer XR382CQK 37.5” UltraWide QHD (3840 x 1600)
Chair: Noble Chairs Epic Series Real Leather (Black)

    --Audio/Streaming--

    Microphone: MXL V69M Mogami Edition
    Mic Stand: Proline MS112
    Mic Filter: Stedman PS101
    Interface: CEntrance MicPort Pro
    Capture Card: Elgato HD60 S
    Webcam: Logitech C922 Pro Stream

The upgrade itch is always there, but I keep telling myself that the RTX 2080 Ti just isn't worth it over an overclocked 1080. I think the next generation will be when I build a new system. Because then DDR5 RAM will be the new standard along with PCI Express 4.0 on both motherboards and GPUs.

Took advantage of deals weekend to build a new PC for my GF:

    Motherboard: Asrock Z370M-ITX/AC
    CPU: Intel i5-9600K
    CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-L9x65
RAM: 16GB Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4 3000 Mhz
    HDD: WD 500GB M.2 ssd
Video Card: my old Gigabyte GTX960 mini
    PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 650 G3
Case: Silverstonetek SST-FTZ01S-E slim mini itx case

So basically, I built her the exact upgraded gaming rig I wanted to build myself (minus the RTX2080) that I just couldn't justify. At least I get to scratch the PC building itch for a little bit. She will be using this rig mostly for AutoCAD, Revit, and Stardew Valley...

What do you need a dual CPU for?

It's not very common for consumers to need this type of processing power, but it could be used for 3D rendering, rendering high resolution videos with allot of effects or other compute heavy tasks.

Cheap craigslist based computer. For $50 I got a computer with 6gb ram, i3-2120.

Bought new power supply on ebay for $80 (got a nice modular seasonic), XFX R9 290 for $100, hyper 212 evo cooler form my friend for free, hard drive/ssd and monitor/keyboard/mouse from my old computer.
Then found on craigslist 2 computers, one with i3-2120 and one with i5-2300, along with 2 monitors, and an AIO computer. Took the ram from one, now I have 8gb. Just have to switch the CPU.
Also upgraded case to inwin 301.

My keyboard, an Apple Adjustable Keyboard from 1994. Got on craigslist for free, fully mechanical with alps switches. $30 ADB to USB adapter and works great.

Potato pic, but definitely not a potato PC. Moving the PC into this case coincided with with the sad time of having to sell my modest speaker system (which was mostly used for movies and vinyl). Luckily, things are better now, although I've decided to move to headphones for now until I move.
