I despise the launcher wars. I understand steam takes a big cut but I honestly believe Fallout 76 wouldnt have so much negativity if it was on steam and wasn't plagued with problems at every step including the horrible Bethesda launcher.

Steam is leaps and bounds ahead of all other launchers. Plus I already own 250+ games there, it's integrated with my Nvidia Shield, I have all my friends on there, the mobile app is good for chatting with friends, the download and updating system just works, etc.

I somehow didn't know of this, which should probably be a crime.

    @pedalhead

Talos Principle is a seriously good game, savor the experience is all I'm saying. Also the soundtrack is killer.

Anybody using wireless Bluetooth headphones with a docked switch? Wife is complaining about my after bedtime Nintendo sounds coming from the living room.

The switch doesn't let you pair headphones to it's built in Bluetooth so you will need a wireless usb headset with the receiver plugged into the dock.

Cnet tested a bunch of wireless USB headsets with the switch last year, here's a link to the article.

I ordered one also. Was hoping for a quicker solution while I wait on the Genki.

Gaming headsets are icky. I am sure there are some that are ok, but I plan on going with something intended for music.

I finally finished God of War and really loved it. I was going to go for 100% until I ran into Niflheim and Muspelheim. What nightmares...

It feels like the game designers got bored and I'm not willing to put up with the grind.

It's a shame, too...those Valkyrie fights were fun.

    Oh well...onto Spiderman!

Just completed the Spider-Man main campaign - not bad. Good story. It took a while for me to get into controlling the combat with fluidity, and quite frankly I can piss more accurately than I can swing - but that's my hamfistedness, not the game's.

So onwards and upwards, or more fittingly per ardua ad astra. Ace Combat 7 Skies Unknown beckons. Shame they cut the VR content down to a miserable hour or so, so here's hoping the rest of the game stands up.

I would probably be very interested in the Mobius if they made a version without all the silly head tracking and fake 3D stuff, but aside from them....not really interested in anything gaming.

Just got in a Monoprice 35" ultrawide monitor with Freesync. Kind of the ultimate compromise monitor for better or worse. VA panel so decent color and good contrast, with slightly less glow than IPS. Freesync that seems to be working with my GTX1070. More motion blur than IPS (still trying to decide if I hate it or not) and I do see a bit of shift away from center image, though not nearly as bad as a TN panel. Intentionally smaller than my dual 24" setup so I can actually use my speakers on my desk. Capped at 100hz refresh, but most panels this size are unless overclocked.

Definitely a nice step up for Overwatch. I am getting 100fps with slightly less lag and a larger image. Hitscan shooting has definitely improved. Shadow of the Tomb Raider looks amazing in ultrawide, though with my 1070, I have to turn down the details to keep framerates acceptable.

Build quality is garbage with the glass not flush to the fairly chintzy plastic back. No usb ports or real adjustability other than a little bit of tilt. For $450, I think I can live with the downsides. I know I could have better viewing angles, less motion blur, and much better build quality with one of the IPS Gsync ultrawides I was looking at, but this is literally half the price at the moment. If I hadn't just gone mental and blown most of my fun money on a 65" OLED tv, I probably would have gone IPS just to get the best of this last gen of panels.

I had a VA panel before I got my IPS...I never noticed the blur and if I did It never really bothered me. The thing is great..only reason I replaced it was I wanted 144 hz and 1440p. Either way it beat the pants off of any TN out there.

Public service announcement for any Wii and Wii U owners. The Wii Shop Channel officially closes on Jan 30, 2019. So whatever games you've purchased, be sure they are downloaded and backed up.

Not to worry, you can somewhat easily get access to all your WiiWare games even after the store closes and continue to play them:

And you can also still currently play Wii online (WFC) with a simple patch:

    Happy gaming! :)

Anyone else hyped to play the Division 2 beta tomorrow???

The first one was such a mess at launch (and through about 1.3), but Ubisoft/Massive stuck with it and it was fantastic by the end. Everything looks really promising so far.

D1 was visually stunning but too repetitive for me.
