Yes, at first, Verum appearance is striking in its unaccustomed originality of appearance and design style. Probably, for the first time, the French perceived the work of Gustave Eiffel, now this is a landmark and pride of the Eiffel Tower, I like the look, I think probably will play better than the master intended !!!

I think it is time for a separate Verum 1: Tracking Number, Unwrapping, Unboxing, Having a feel, Pluging in, and Listening Impressions thread.

OK, OK... forget the first five things there.

I just lost it at work when the guy creamed about Eiffel Tower or whatever that is. That just came out of the left field.

But yeah, I think this is the third time this thread's got derailed. If the posts are gonna get moved, I'd like to vote "tracking.blogspot.co.jp" or something close to that as the name of the thread. All posts about shipping/tracking/unwrapping/unboxing/creaming-about-eiffel-tower in the future can be moved there, too.

The thought had crossed my mind to make a functional parody site of HF where we would all pretend to love all gear and pat each other's backs, recommending horrible gear to everyone who asked.

I find all this entertaining. Finally caught up on work, so less stressed and likely to tear into people.

Well, to be fair, I did make a comparison to the aesthetics of the Padishah Emperor's house in the 1984 film Dune. I didn't post my tracking number though. :)

I hope the new Dune will be good. Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Arrival, Blade Runner) just might be the right guy, and the casting looks great so far.

I agree with everything except separate "where is my tracking" thread!
p.s. I'm shipping each day 10-15 pcs. Will ship more each in a week or two.

Consider naming it after that anagram I noticed of head-fi : hi-deaf. As in high definition, obviously, nothing else implied.
All jokes aside, It'd be hard to make a parody of something that's parody by default.

Glad to see Verum is doing good.

Beware SBAF! At least one of us a really strong audiophile :D
    h4tsiqe.jpg
One customer tried to bend a headband a little. You know, it wasn't easy to break a ~1mm of hardened steel but there is no impossible task for passionate music lover!
So WARNING! Please, don't try to bend a headband. You won't succeed. Shape of headband is once and for all. It is a HARDENED spring steel. It won't bend, instead it'll crack (force applied to do this should be at least 30 kg so it won't crack accidentally) .

p.s. Sure, we've solved the problem with this customer and I'll ship him a replacement and we both agreed that this is not a warranty case.

Gee, I wonder who that might have been, looks like they might be embarrassingly impatient, ahaha ...

Good call sending him a replacement. Wouldn't want to make him mad. That could be someone's neck.

I wonder what he might have been thinking? Perhaps he doesn't know how to use the dials? Thanks for posting, though. It took me a minute to remember after looking at that picture. Not that I would have ever done such a thing. Being first is not all it's cracked up to be. ;)

@bilboda customer just wanted to change an angle a bit as far as I understand. I know, that for example on Abyss you can do that. So I've made a warning post that you will not have such option on Verum.

The box took a massive hit - they tried pulling it back so it wouldn't look like it, which is cute and very Italian - and bent the frame so I had the choice of having sit crooked on my head, or having it sit straight but push into the top of my head.

So I took a chance and tried fixing it, but I was impatient and did it by hand with everything mounted, instead of dismantling it and making a wooden jig.

I got it most of the way, got over-enthusiastic and snapped it.

And since I punch steel into shape for a living and failed, absolutely don't try this at home. Do as I say, not as I do.

@Taverius every problem will be solved. If you'd just make a photo of headphones with anomaly bended half - it will be replaced under a warranty. I took responsibility for good packaging.
Other then that headphones are fully functional I assume?

Yeah but if I managed to fix it I could use them right away and not have to wait on shipping. For cost of 1 meal at a pizzeria, it was worth the risk :D

    (Did i mention I'm impatient?)

Cans themselves, they're great. Cable's nice too, better than what you get on 6kUSD chifimans, though I'm damning you with faint praise there.

Though not terribly comfortable right now as I have to hold them up with both hands if I want to wear them xD

Impressions of the Verum 1 that landed 5 hours ago:
I'm using my Mac Mini running Tidal into the DM Convert-2 (set at -14 dbFS and master clock) and through the Jensen PO-2XR (1: 1 transformers) to my solid state Sapphire amp (which is dual-mono). My only genre is rock music.

The dynamics are excellent. My first reaction was: wow, a planar HD600 ! This feature stands out almost immediately and surpasses almost all of the planars I have heard/owned. My ownership has extended to most Audez'e HPs and some HFMs (HE 4, 500). I am purposely leaving the HE 6 out of this discussion. I must add that I've heard @gurubhai's Yamaha HP-1 (modded extensively) and that is probably the best planar I've heard.

The Verum 1 beats the LCD 2C (my most recently owned planar) in almost all aspects fairly handily. The bass hits really low. The overall sound is neutral to being on the bright side. The sound is clean and if I were to nitpick, it is a tad less cleaner than the HD 600 (my favorite HP, period). I have my set of tracks to hear certain sounds, e.g. the triple conga played by Jose Chepito Areas in Soul Sacrifice, Macca's bass (and John's throaty rendition) in Hey Bulldog, Harrison's slide guitar in Cheer Down. The Verum 1 reproduces these very well. I did miss the extra bite and crunch of the guitars which the dynamics convey better. Tonality is excellent and I do not hear the plasticky kind of sound that ruins the emotion in music.

I now need to run the Verum 1 with the BW1 and the Phonitor X.

    Very well done @Garuspik.

Add: I don't pay attention to size, fit or finish. If it fits comfortably for long sessions, so be it and on to the music.

I can see feel the excitement surrounding the Verum 1 here, but I'm not going to dismiss it as another choo choo hype train and see whether it really is the Second Coming in planar-land. Mine is also on its way, ready to be pitted against the Code-X. This should be interesting because I always thought the Code-X was the planar HD600.

I've received Verum 1 yesterday. The cable that came with it seems to be faulty as it only produces sound in one channel. I made sure it's not a failed driver by channel switching with the cable. Funny enough the sound in the other channel came on briefly once I cranked up the volume which spooked me a little. That's what I get for making fun of other people gushing about the cable. Oh well, sorry. :(

I've got a balanced cable coming in anyway for use with the Jot so this is no biggie at all. I will wait until then before I do a full impression on the cans. So far though, my left ear is pretty impressed, can't wait for my right ear to enjoy it too. :D

The cans itself are great, by the way. Looks slammin' and is really comfortable to wear. Well done! Can't wait to dig into Verum more down the line.
