What's SBAF's policy on doing DAP tours? It does seem we as a group are a bit light on knowledge, on the subject. I could be a bit biased, considering my recent frustrations in the matter...

I'd be happy to contribute a Shanling M1 (currently un-used since my ZX300 arrived) if this happens. Not that it's an expensive DAP, but it would free up ~$80 towards a different DAP for the tour.

If this is still something that people would like to have, I can put out my Liquid Platinum on a limited CONUS tour.

If it helps, I could contribute mine to an East Coast tour - also limited to CONUS. Thinking...packed with tubes already in, and lots of bubble.

@Vansen, or other members who might know, how is something like this usually organized? I don't want to put a new thread in the loaner programs only to find out I wasn't supposed to do that.

Yeah, I was thinking about this recently. Could there be a way to post gear that's more or less open for loaners without being "officially" in a loaner program? For example, I've got some audio gear clutter that's collecting dust that if someone else wanted to hear, I'd have no problem loaning (where, loanee pays shipping, etc.), but not necessarily interested in posting for sale. Nor is it new gear that, more or less, requires a distinct loaner thread so the gear-masters can keep track of (usually) expensive and on loan, new toys floating across the country. Mods: Feel free to strip this post off the thread of it should be somewhere else.

You could PM @Vansen and ask about adding it to the Gear Lending Library.

If you have gear you are willing to lean perpetually, you might consider putting that in your profile. The benefit of a loaner tour is the saved shipping cost by having the item sent to multiple friends in serial, rather than back and forth to the owner.

I can lend Aeolus O. Any interest?

Note that Drop x JVC IEM and Verite C loaners are out.

I'll throw this out there for consideration: Burl B2 Bomber DAC

I'd love to read impressions on that from those who have had the Yggdrasil, Solaris, Convert-2 in their systems.

I like the idea of continuing the "pro" DAC / audio interface loaners too. Maybe one of the Apogees or MOTU's @Psalmanazar keeps talking about? They're not terribly expensive either.

I'm for the Burl B2 Bomber loaner. Never heard a pro DAC, although I'm a little concerned about the output levels on that DAC. I recall the Convert-2 has very hot outputs which could potentially fry some amps.

Seems like decent interest in the Shortest Way amp as well.

They're good sabres but hardly esoteric. I'm not sure it's worth money to buy something Apogee. The Apogee sound is easy to hear and Apogee is Mac only but the 2-channel Element is cheap. You could just buy a used one. MOTU interfaces aren't retard proof. I don't see why most people here would want one unless they play and want to record themselves. They're both better than the awful Duets, Focusrite Scarlets, and UAD Apollo Twins that most bedroom guitarists and "producers" use.

If I may, I've always wanted to hear a ZMF set without a blind-buy, but have no opportunity to do so. Definite interest in hearing/sharing impressions on a loaner tour.

@E_Schaaf i could see sbaf liking the Apogee sound though. Just be sure to not get the Apple store dongle crap or a duet. A used Element goes for about 400 but is mac and thunderbolt only. Not sure you will find too many used Motu Sabres. Kinda hard to find like used RME pro stuff because they actually work.

HEDD should be on the list, has the potential to rival raal without a crazy amp or price. Spoke with them and it's releasing in November.

Did you ask them if they would consider a loaner tour?

Besides from a few trades shows, their headphone is completely unknown to the public.

They don't reply if you ask for loaners, beta testing etc. Tried that.
It has huge potential based on my audition. Those who like the LCD4 style of sound will be immediately attracted due to the powerful low end, thicker but detailed mids and very clear extended, fast and natural high end with zero fatigue...unlike the LCD4.

I would love to see the Aeon 2 go on a loaner tour.

I don't really care how people feel about Dan's products...the Aeon was a solid headphone.

Sadly, the soundstage killed it for me ultimately, but if the Aeon 2 has fixed this problem, then I'm intrigued.
