Thank you for the option. People should be given opportunity to learn from mistakes, seems many forget that sometimes you have to make them first, life isn’t just an uphill slope of success.

It is what is it, live and learn is all one can do as what’s said is said. I made an error (multiple), people don’t seem keen on letting me learn and move forward from that so likely better to step aside. Thank you though for the reply.

@bonesnv it's just how we behave here. Take it as fucked up tongue in cheek humor. Just move on from this, seems like you can get the culture here and laugh about it as you've already done

@bonesnv - shit this has been a fun read! I’ve gone from that guy’s an asshat” to lthat guy’s a SERIOUS asshat”, to well, maybe not, he gets it, to ok, kind of an asshat, but in a good way. I say stay around and see how it goes for a while.

    Ok, back to turntables....

Are you like me and check the pull down menu under Products looking for Turntable?

I admit looking for it a few times since the end of January.

$599 sounds like a killer price until the inevitable cartridge thread where we talk about how amazingly scalable Sol is and make me wonder if I'm totally missing out if I don't try a handful of $200-700 carts. Probably a second tonearm too for good measure.

That price is a trap baited for turntable newbs like me...

Good thing that I already have an MP-110 on my Pro-ject. Time to start planning to make a purchase in a few months (when it hits the EU)

Quick newbie question about TTs with external motors (Sol or in general): How do you know how far to place the motor from the platter/rest of the table? Is it just enough to say "place it so that it is not in contact but also not stretching out the belt too much"?

You can use strobe disk or RPM test app to check the speed and find position that gives ideal tension between motor and platter.

Will be curious to see which cartridges schiit might recommend based on the tone arm specs.

Not sure what cartridge it is mounted showing on the photo. I guess that it is off the shelf cartridge from Audio Technica?
It looks very similar to cheap AT3600/Rega Carbon cartridge with different color and logo.

Looks like a $35 LP Gear Carbon Fidelity cartridge.
