Yeah, but the look on the kid's face as he was doing it seemed to me like pure joy at getting to play such a brilliant part.

Bron was given the order to execute both Saucy's bros. This may set the stage for the prophecy about Saucy's demise.

There are a few things falling to place about Azor Ahai, which I think it's Danny. But some may say it's the one that knows nothing.

The hound is in the mix together with Aria. Weapons, that can kill white walkers, are getting forged. It's getting there IMO.

And then we have the Greyjoys escaping and on their way to their land.

And what the heck happened to the story-line of the South? Who's running the show in Dorne? Did I miss that entirely?

I felt like this recent episode was very much fan service. Dialogue was pretty sparse and nothing really happened beyond character reunion scenes and brief re-telling of major plot points from previous seasons.

Just set-up for what's to come, which I suppose is to be expected for EP1 of a new season.

HBO decided to go cheap and only make a handful of episodes per "season."

If I didn't get my HBO sub for free with my AT&T service, I'd cancel it after GOT. Like how my CBS will be cancelled after next week.

HBO is in trouble. Studios pulling content from them. Not much other than Westworld now which was so horrible last season that I don't know if I want to see another.

We'll see how the fragmentation of video delivery services plays out. The one thing I fear is that this will be make it more worthwhile for people to steal content than to buy it.

There's a real GOT thing being played out with the content owners wanting to control distribution and delivery. If they don't play nice and end up pissing off the consumers, the pirates will win.

Just baseless speculation here; Maybe having the books as a guide was serving to keep a lot of the usual Hollywood studio ego/drama in check. Now that they're out-stripping the book's contents the various hands in writing are having to think off the rails to bring things to a close while simultaneously dealing with various 'creative' differences from influential people behind the scenes?

    Just a thought.

I think with the future of streaming, I will just go ahead and subscribe to a streaming service for a month or two and then cancel. Subscribe to HBO Now to watch Game of Thrones and a few other shows, cancel when I don't use it anymore. Rinse and repeat for all the other new subscription services coming out.

Not tempted to get back into torrenting everything just yet.

    ^Same.

I signed up this week for Netflix and HBO-Streaming and will cancel them both within a month or two. There's not much current or upcoming content on either that I'm particularly interested in beyond GoT.

Maybe I'll watch the most recent season of True Detectives and I did like Narcos Mexico but beyond that, not much caught my eye.

It's hard to imagine the Avengers and Star Wars live action spinoff series on the Disney streaming will be done especially well, just on account of budget. If they Were done well, I'd pay the seven bucks for that.

you might have missed it last season: Cersei took out her vengeance on the Dornish bastard-wench by poisoning her daughter. it's pretty much wrapped.

Saw that, but they still never addressed who is ruling that area. Guess we're to assume the Lannisters since they took out the people who took out the Prince?

I'm sure there will be some warden of the south, but yeah, Dorne is out of the game.

Hey man, first time riding a dragon. I say achievement unlocked!

Just the fact that he didn't fall and die in the first 10 seconds means dude has some skills, let alone be eaten just after saying "whats wrong with them" is a sign of native affinity there. Dude was styling.

As far as Avatar. Yeah. That's bullshit.

And no. All GOT first episodes start somewhat like that. It's all good. Patience padawan.

Plenty of chances of more WTF moments, unforeseen deaths, gratuitous nudes, and violence. Along with an entertaining story.

The more I think about it, the more I feel things are looking up.

For instance, I'm still pretty intriged about the Bron assignment to kill Saucy's bros. It can go so few ways. Dude comes in to do his job in the middle of the battle and has a change of hearth, dies, kills one but not the other, succeeds but they are resucitated by some random power, and so on.

Furthermore, Danny is likely going to find out Idiot is the rightful king. And maybe even the North guys, which may have an interesting reaction once they find out Idiot is actually half and half but not trully the King on the North, which may end up falling upon Sansa. Though King of the North Idiot is.

And then we have Greyjoy. What is he going to bring to the table? Could be that he is just another data point. But that's not always how it pans out in that universe.

I like the fact that things can go down so many ways, and when they do go down, is all a bit unexpected. But it somehow works out.

More importantly: I want to see the next episode really bad (unlike SW which I give a f**k but not two).

Also what's up with Varys these days? Didn't Melisandre say that they'd both die in Westeros? And she headed off to Volantis, and Jon threatened her if she returned to the North, but seems like she's destined to come back in the picture at some point. Actually, she seems like the only major character they didn't mention/show/bring together in S8E1.

That also brings up the whole "who is R'hllor?" question. And who gets stabbed in the heart by Azor Ahai to forge Lightbringer? Jon stabbing Dany? Or possibly Tyrion stabbing Sansa? Yes, they never consummated the marriage and she's since been wed to Ramsey and widowed or whatever - but those are technicalities. Could "light" mean "enlightenment"? Tyrion's certainly "red" in terms of how much wine he's consumed! Or could it be Jon and Dany's potential baby? Would have to grow up really quick to be relevant given the timeline. What does "reborn amidst smoke and salt" mean anyway in terms of Melisandre's prophecy? Was that a nod to the Salt Throne from the Iron Islands?

Or could Tyrion be another secret Targaryen? That rumor has been flying around for a while, and remember the dragon's didn't instantly torch him back in Meereen. Maybe they just liked him and found him of strong character? (pardon the pun) But actually we already have three dragon riders now - Daenerys, Jon and the Night King. Two we know are Targaryen's, maybe the Night King is as well in some twisted way? White hair, white walker...

Sorry, could go on forever - will just have to wait and see!

I’ve subscribed to to theory of Tyrion being a Targaryen as well ever since he was able to touch one the dragons without being torched.

Yep - maybe the Mad King went after Tywin's wife Joanna? There were rumors of her activities and his infatuation with her while she was a lady-in-waiting in his court...

But then again, shouldn't Bran know all of these juicy details, being the TER and all?

Yeah, another thought that crossed my mind is how Jon is both Targaryan and Stark. I could see when the shit hits the fan, Jon saying again that all he wanted was to protect the north all along....he can stay King in the North & let Dani have the 7 kingdoms since he never wanted to be a king in the 1st place and everyone is happy.

A lot of avenues they could go.

It is unclear what Idiot will do. He doesn't want to be king. But then again he likes Danny's butt, and maybe conviced to be king to keep Danny happy since she wants to be queen. Who knows. Another possiblity is that, again, Danny is Azor Ahai and Idiot will become the catalyst for her to aquire fire powers against El Nite-Pimp. It's no biggie since Idiot doesn't want to be king anyways. Danny will find out through this that Idiot was more important to her than the crown, and so forth become inspired to melt that ice and burn some zombies.

I don't think Tyrion is Targaryen. I don't think Bran is the Nite Pimp. But I do think we shall see Melissandre's ass in Westeros again. And she'll likely have a hand on the fullfilment of the fire part of the fire and ice song and dance deal.

Here is what I think it's going to happen to Tyrion: He is going to kill Saucy.

I don't know if Jamitio will survive Ca-Bron. But I think Ca-Bron will not kill Tyrion, and instead give the ghost trying. I think Saucy is not pregnant and just pretty mad goat crazy. I think Tyrion, after having a good vintage view of all of this will device Saucy's poetic demise. And after that, I dunno what will happen again to Tyrion. He may just kill himself or go on fighting till the end.

I guess he should, but he also didn’t know that Rhaegar had his marriage annulled and married Lyanna, so I guess he can’t really see everything ‍♂️
