@gandhisfist , I am not familiar with the whereabouts of Aurorus Audio (cool names for the brand and HPs btw). If you are located in India, I would love to try the Borealis and do a write-up. As the qualification is based on merit, here are some impressions I have shared on SBAF: Lyr3 , ZDT Jr , LCD-i4

We're based out of the US, but definitely reach out again when we start getting into Southeast Asia.

Photos look nice. I like current headband structure very much. Suspension headband combined with thin metal skeleton(-ish) frames would ensure a good level of comfort! Hope this basic structure won't change in the production version.

Btw, I found this on the web:

    https://www.digikey.com/product-det.../HPD-50N25PR00-32/HPD-50N25PR00-32-ND/6211129

Guessing this was used in both Bore and Aust. Driver's physical characters seem promising but I understand tuning talks in the end.

Looking forward to testing those soon!

Correct, that is the driver used in both models.

    Hi All,

First, since I’m not yet a “made man,” am I allowed to participate in tours?

Second, if approved for question #1, then is this tour ongoing, and may I have the opportunity to compare the Borealis and Australis to my Vérité and Aeolus, in my system?

I think it's on a 'reviewer tour' at this stage, not a more typical SBAF 'loaner tour'. Once they are in production, hopefully a loaner could happen...at least I hope so. You might well have a status change by that time anyway.

Correct, these are just the initial sample units that are going on tour for reviewers. We definitely plan to follow up with a tour of the final units for friends later.

Thanks @Jinxy245, here’s hoping my status is upgraded in time for the tour, I’m very interested in listening to theses in my system.

As a creator of Vali, I'm wondering what you could achieve with this driver's :) They are so cool, I only wish I could have more freedom with my design.

Indeed they are! I tried so many different drivers until these fell on my lap. I hope you and everyone can enjoy a different vision and approach using the same drivers. For me, freedom and flexibility can be a bane and a boon. Often the vast amount of ideas and choices plus trial and error was mind numbing but those moments when something clicks was really exciting.

Yeh, true :) I was eager to try everything, alas, still was not able to find earpad material to really fit all my needs.
By the way, your avatar suggests something going with their 40mm version as well? =)

Heh, that's a Foster driver in his avatar, Eudis has always been a big biodyna fan. Only working with the 50mm Tymphany driver for now.

Demo units should be going out to USPS tomorrow for professional shots and then on to the first reviewer!

Just for clarification. These are demo units so they might be unfinished aesthetically such as finish and a bit of roughness to the mold.

However the overall look and most importantly the tuning is final.

As you can see, the open backs have a heavy emphasis on removing any sort of cup reflection and minimalist damping. As well making an acoustically transparent baffle (in both thinness and how dense the stainless steel mesh is) as we could without comprising a proper seal.

While the closed back has as minimal as we could do damping and a thin baffle. While trying to retain an open like representation without suffering from backwave reflection (commonly seen as a dip about 400-800hz).
