Not particularly nice, but this is the first time I've tried stitching a panorama together from multiple photos (smartphone photography is limited in that you only get so much width in a shot unless you use one of those clip-on thingies). Ended up using Microsoft's free Image Composite Editor, results are pretty nice. Nicer than the shit panorama I took just before.

I’ve used MS ICE lots of times. Mostly use PS or LR these days but ICE is a great tree tool.

Haha, bit of a cheapskate, only Lightroom version I'm savvy with is the free mobile version :))

Will be worth investing in once I have more to actually invest in photography, but this was a fun little find. Sky looked far more impressive in person but I can blame my poopy editing for that :))

Okay so I've been messing around with MICE the last few days while procrastinating. Phone and ageing laptop are crying foul from all the abuse, but it's good fun between cramming for exams, haha. There are a few more, but I like these ones the most.

I honestly love how these are turning out, but please don't look too closely because some of these are like 30 or even 40 smartphone shots cobbled together— rips in the seams quite obvious upon more careful inspection. A nice camera is in the pipeline, as it has been for several years now I think, but this will suffice for now.

And yes we still have Christmas decor up. Had the freaking tree up until two weeks ago.

Then I looked at the first pic and thought there was snow on the ground. My mind couldn't relate that to your part of the world!

That'd be liberal application of Lightroom sliders, haha. Never had snow, worst we've had in recent memory is 23°C weather (which is very uncomfortable for me) and then some hail a few years back.

If and when I ever travel, part of me wants to go during winter months just to experience snow. Then again, the more rational part of my brain is telling me I'd have to be one hell of a dumbass to just jump into the deep end :p

I tell my remote coworkers from India and Brasil, "If they try to send you here in January, you must have really screwed something up and they're trying to punish you."

23°C is shorts and flip-flops weather here in the Midwest. Experience 0°C before you dive into -30°C.

Oh, and I liked Hateful Eight. I'm glad there are usually several years between Tarantino films because they're so over the top. But I generally like them for this very reason.
Edit: Oops wrong thread with that last comment.

Oof, sorry to hear @DigMe. That sounds... like stay-inside-the-oven levels of WTH cold :|

@crazychile haha, I actually remember people here making fun of marathon runners in London who'd passed out due to extreme heat at 24°C. Pissed me off and I ended up having to point out to loads of people that if I tossed them into an overhead bin and had them dropped off in Dover (been listening to Vera Lynn again lately) they'd be dying of cold in minutes. All relative— It's around 34°C right now and I'm enjoying the weather. Relevant to the thread, I'm getting usable photos at 1/24000s on my phone too, somehow.

Nice! I'm eagerly awaiting arrival and reviews of the new Samyang 85mm 1.4 E-mount. I have a fully-manual 90mm that I use quite a lot. It is good, with nice character --- but autofocus would be nice. Or... sometimes I remind myself of when focus rings had to be turned for every shot :)

    But hey, GAS!

Went on a little photo walk today at the town park, liked a tree with interesting bark. This is a 100% crop with a surprise critter I didn't see while shooting.

(edited to brighten; I'd been editing pics in a dark room, so it was too dark)

Man, I saw one of those guys, but he wouldn't stay still very long. Plus I had an adapted Nikon F-mount Tamron 90mm Macro on my Fuji XT-3, so it was manual focus. I got quite a few shots I liked with that lens, but couldn't get the bumblebee.

Yeah, I attempted like 20 pictures and that was the only one that turned out, it’s also cropped quite a bit

Went with the kids to a park Saturday, found quite a few bees working hard.
