My mother and daughter cat lie like that. They look like they are posing for a very famous French nude painting, the artist of which I forget. I call them my porn cats.

My dog Otis was originally my wife’s dog. She got him about 8 months before I met her. Within 6 months he became super attched to me.

I think she might make the team! And also surprised you didn't fall down after she ran circles around you as you were filming...

My best buddy - the one in my Avatar - is gone, and I'm heartbroken.

When I took her in as a stray 5 years ago, she was FIV positive, and she had a bout with cancer a couple years ago. I knew I could not keep her forever, but she just got so sick so fast this week and I had to have her euthanized.

To all the friends here with the beautiful pets in this thread, give them a hug. Life is not always fair.

Damn I'm so sorry. You're a god man for taking in a cat with FIV, and you did have a good 5 years. It's never enough though.

Very sorry to hear this. In the past many of us have been where you are now, me included. Always be grateful for the time you had together with your friend, as I'm sure he was and is.

KK - So sorry for your loss. Sounds like you gave her a great life, and she returned the favor with a lot of love. Going to pet my cats now...

@Kernel Kurtz - I add my condolences as well. You gave her a great life ... sounds like she won the kitty lotto when you became her pet parent.

Sadly, I seem to only post pics when I loose a cherished friend. But I lost Lily, yesterday morning (front). She was sick, and too old to recover. But she passed peacefully at home, while I was petting her. She's now teamed up with her mom again (back), chasing rabbits in the great beyond...

So sad. But a natural death, more-or-less from old age, at home, is the best way to go.

    Sympathy.

You have my most sincere sympathy friend. It's been over a month for me and it still hurts every single day. You will be in my thoughts, I wish you well. As others have said, remember the good times. Nothing can take those away.

There's no way around it, loosing a pet is just painful. I wished I had answers...I don't. My old Jack dog has been gone for three years now, and I miss him and think about him every week. He was around when my kids were young. They loved each other very much.

But he and I were thick as thieves. There was just that connection. You guys know what I mean. We have added two more since Jack. A Sharpai/Lab rescue and a Boston Terrier. The rescue is an old soul...loving and matriarchal, super smart and gentle. The Boston is a fun loving lap dog. He's two now and past the puppy stage mostly. I love them both but they don't replace my old Jack. I hope to see him again one day.

All of this is to say, I feel the pain of those who've lost a loved pet. It's not easy for sure.

It's been 8 years since our Daisy passed, and still 3-6 times/year I tell my wife "I miss Daisy". It's amazing, strange, wonderful, and mysterious the depths of our relationships with our pets.

I'm sorry for your loss, and I honestly can't think of a better way for her to have passed.
