I do apologize if I am hungover at this meet. We are having a party tonight at my apartment and I bought a $15 handle of vodka.
Either way, I am looking forward to this meet, time to pack up all my audio gear.

Would be disappointed with anything less Spwath. A couple Gatorade and a greasy breakfast sandwich will have you back to peak performance in no time.

Yea, dude who organized the meet went all out. Looking at the headfi page, there is an ice cream bar at 3pm? Is this new territory for headphone meets?

Also - Ninja has several things things I'm very interested in hearing. Perfect time for you to jump back into the hobby. Looking forward to catching up

    Meet impressions:

    Goods -
Location, food spread, bar in the lobby - really well put together headphone meet. Holy shit - Gene needs to be an event planner and give Jude / CanJam a run for their money.
People make the meets - good crowd, hope we can continue the momentum in the future (and convince Gene to keep organizing these things). Awesome to see old faces, new faces - chat about gear, hobby, make fun of stuff we didnt like etc.
Schiit / Audeze - Schiit sponsored the event, bought us food, send a major care package with almost their enitre lineup of products, interesting headphones, and even macbooks to use as sources. Looked swank for a North East meet. Audeze sent a whole box of their headphones too. Very very cool that community is being supported by the dudes making this stuff.
THX AAA 789 amp - I commented on this in the thx thread, but smooth, powerful, dynamic. I assumed super o2 and that it would sound dead. not the case
Hifiman Arya - Seems like a cousin of HE1000, cheaper build, cool gun metal grey color, bit brighter, slightly less ethereal sound.
Audeze LCD4Z - literally the first audeze headphone I've really liked. Wasn't as crazy high on it as some others, but had potentail and sounded more natural and even than LCD4 did.
Modhouse T50rp mods - Owner came up to the meet, he is doing one classic t50rp mod and one that's very very interesting, like nothing I've heard any t50 modders do before.
AV Therapy - Learned of a hifi store not too far away that carries a ton of stuff. Very nice employees, knowledgeable about music and gear, set up a ton of stuff for their first headphone meet. Liked hearing about their policies, showroom, lines they carried etc. Nice to know there are real people behind these companies and even cooler to see multiple vendors at a meet.

    Didnt Likes:
Ice cream Bar: I heard it cost a pretty penny to have a few freeze pops and some frozen yogurt pops put in a metal bowl with ice. Pops were mostly melted. Whats up with that? Good job good effort.
Anything from Mr. Speakers (ether2, aeon closed) - ether 2 just doesn't do it for me, holes and spikes in wrong places for my preferences. One of my favorite headphones build / comfort-wise, but not worth the price tag for me
Anything else from Audeze (LCD2C, LCDX, LCD2 closed) - just not a fan of their house sound even if they are improving and getting more consistent pair to pair
Luxman head amp / dac combo - 1st class fit and finish, but didn't sound 1st class. Could have been many different factors, but looked like hifi brand trying to jump into headphone market. Refrained from looking at the price tag, but for all the features and well built chasis, I wasnt wowed by the sound.
@porkfried thinking he was sooo cool because he has a 4 screw he6 and I had a 6 screw. Get over yourself jerk

Any Northeners up for a mod to late May mini meet? Been talking with @hifiandrun, and something small could work. I think @porkfriedpork had a couple dozen dacs and headamps, could bring a few things, etc. Again, thinking small and informal.

    Thanks, Josh.

I am mainly still on speakers. How about we share some ideas first. I have a pair of Nautilus 803 and a pair of Harbeth early HL-P3. Gungnir Multibit A1 with new firmware, Saga, 1 Vidar, a Dynaco ST 70. Head phone setup I have recent Modi MB, early Vali2, Jotunheim, a non-mod HD650. I didn’t have CD but Tidal HiFi.

I can bring in a Nagra Classic DAC, but probably not going to travel with any power amps.

Headphone wise there's the Mysphere 3.2 and Raal SR1a, plus a couple universal IEMs.

I’d love to hear Harbeth. I have Adagio + DigiOne to share. Plus maybe a power amp if there are speakers.

How do you guys think about the date of the spring meeting at my place? Just you know, I may have new toys, lol. Early June is fine with me too.
