I've written and deleted about five different paragraphs so far but nothing really seems to gather my thoughts adequately.

So consider the following the extent of my ability right now:

    What the f**k.

I haven't posted on this season because I was trying very very hard not to lose all hope. But what in the straight fuckity f**k sammiches did I just f'ing watch? The horrible writing, the shitty choices on how certain people died/were killed. The absolute shit show of this season is depressing. I'm looking forward to next week, not for the reasons one should be to see the series finale of a once great show, but to see the inevitable train wreck it will end on...

No one here, or just about anywhere else, would have predicted that Cersei would die in arms of Jamie crushed by the collapsing Red Keep. That makes it an unpredictable death but still very dissatisfying. She deserved far worse. At least Sandor thought enough of Arya to push her away from the path of vengeance and her likely death. Of course, Daenerys gave her someone else to hate.

This show needed about two more seasons.

Or at least a full 10 episode 7th and 8th season.

Opening sequence of episode 6: camera focuses on a large pile of bricks, slowly zooms out; Peter Gunn theme music begins and the bricks begin to shift; Jake and Elwood - sorry, Jamie and Cersei - emerge, brushing the dust from their robes; Cersei reaches back into the rubble, extracts her crown, jams it on her head and the pair exit stage left.

I understand that Dany has had a couple of tough weeks but that shouldn't be enough to make her go nuts and kill untold innocents after all she'd endured over the first 7 seasons. We needed to see her starting to lose it, significant signs that she was struggling, and root for her to keep it together with tension building over several episodes, if not a season+, as to her fate. Watching her just go ape shit and murder thousands who had surrendered feels extremely cheap. Watching Dothraki and Unsullied and especially Northerners follow her lead and start mowing down women and children may have been plausible but as entertainment I found it pretty unenjoyable to watch. Hell, Dany was indiscriminately mowing down her own armies as the dragon reigned fire on to the streets.

Yeah, I feel like her demise into madness happened way to fast.

Another thing I noticed, though this may have just been the alcohol but I feel like a lot of the shots in the episode seemed fake, like they were obviously shot with a camera.

As we all know very well, this season is massively abbreviated, presumably due to real world production and financial considerations.

Still, from where this season picked up and with 10'ish hours of screen time and a Massive budget I have to think there were much better, more plausible, coherent, enjoyable choices available writing-wise to bring the series to an end.

This episode was--albeit inadvertently--an extended and apt metaphor for the scriptwriting. Completely up in flames.

I don't think Daenerys has gone mad. She is pissed off and paranoid, not crazy. She realizes that Jon has all the support in Westeros and when everyone finds out who he really is, they will all want him to be King. Even though Jon has said Daenerys will always be his Queen, she does not trust him enough to be satisfied with his pledge. So, she decides to make everyone very afraid of her by burning most of King's Landing to the ground. She doesn't realize that everyone will really want Jon to be King now and there are people out there that can get to her.

Daenerys needs to kill Jon now. Sansa and Arya too.

Also, I wonder if we are going to find out that, when Daenerys tells Drogon to kill Jon with fire, that Jon is also fireproof....he shouldn't be...but with the way the storyline is going, who knows.

I'd say she tries to execute the imp, but it turns out he's fireproof.

Actually, I expect he is pretty well "marinated" and would burn quite nicely.

Just bear in mind the Mad King's last dying words, according to Jamie: "Burn them all."

I actually felt this was coming.

Daenerys was never this sweet and kind girl that grew up in a wonderful land full of beauty and love. And Cercei, being the egocentric/self-centered idiot that she has always been, did not understand what she was getting her and everyone around her into. Cercei had done this before, when facing Baratheon. And she was useless. I was very surprised she managed for so long. But such things do happen.

The season does seem forced. The death of Rhaegal and Missandei were too easy, and used by the writers to further bring cause to Daenerys wrath. On the other hand, Jon continues to fully fit right into his Idiot role.

What's going to happen next is becoming less and less important. Daenerys will eventually or immediately die.

As far as the Cercei prophecy, well, she did kind of die in the Valonqar's hands. But he definitively did not choke the life from her, unless his hand just happened to land on her throat below all the rubble. Who knows.

Daenerys is pissed off and paranoid. And she is definitively dragon-shit crazy.

Drogon will not kill Jon. It is even possible that Drogon will kill Daenerys if ordered to kill Jon. There is some weird Dragon/Targaryen juju there, which Daenerys does not fully understand (nor Jon, but he is an idiot and does not know nothing anyway).

I dunno what's going to happen to Tyrion. He is alone in the world now. :(

Jon has to wake up from his stupor and see his world for what it is at some point. If seeing Daenerys kill all those people and practically destroy King's Landing doesn't do it, well, he deserves to die.
