    • The original debt was the Crown's, having been run up by Robert & "Sons" (and Littlefinger, who was screwing everyone and putting money in his pocket for the last 20some years), with additional loans taken by Tywin before he died.
      • They were totally willing to deal with Tywin, who's infamous for paying his debts, when he was running the show.
      • They only made the loan to Stannis & called in the 10% of Lannister's debts when Tywin died, since they thought the remaining Lannisters didn't know how to manage money.
      • Cersei didn't deal with the bank at all (directly) until she cuts a deal to pay off 100% of the debt in 2 weeks (not just the 10% that was being called in), and then actually delivers. They probably love that shit.
      • The Lannisters probably have pretty good credit overall, especially as they're supposed to have all these great gold mines that produce a huge constant revenue stream.
        • In like one generation, Tywin used the mines to go from being shit poor to being the richest dude.
        • At this point, I think only Cersei knows that there's not actually any gold left in them.
      • Order of magnitude on the debt Cersei paid off (Robert getting jerked around by Littlefinger 20 years + war of 5 kings) had to be way bigger than the cost of the golden company. We saw literal truckloads of gold coming in from highgarden.
    • Iron bank probably really doesn't like the idea of having to deal with Daenyrs after the last time she bought something on screen... Where she traded her dragon for an army, then had the dragon burninate the dude and come back to her.
      • Not great reputation if you want to do business.
Tl;dr: ROI calculation on the Golden Company loan probably looks pretty good if the Iron Bank thinks there's even a 1% chance it'll keep Daenryrs off the throne, since the payout takes the shape of Danny's remaining lifetime of being able to make loans to the crown (without risk of getting lit on fire).

    6) Iron Bank places lien on Dragon, goes to Dragon Impound, further razings of cities halted until loan paid back.

Dragon goes Goldfinger: flies to Iron Bank and melts / transmutes gold into lead.

    ---

Why does the Iron Bank feel more like the Federal Reserve with the fiat money crap (ability to make their own money by entering extra zeros on the last entry in the GL in the SAP accounting system) rather than a real medieval bank?

I am also thankful that GOT is an equal opportunity hater of both sexes: douchbag rapist men and batshit crazy women.

The Iron Bank should have shelled out for some decent writers.

I'm just worried how poorly they would have treated the Elephants, you know considering what they did to the direwolves.

Considering that one of the Iron Bank guys (Mark Gatiss) was one of the writers of Sherlock - yeah, that could've been done!

God I have tried to stay away from saying anything before the season is finished but Season 6 and 7 ( the Seasons where G.R.R.M. was not involved) are a massive disappointment.

It is honestly such a shame because they feel like an rushed job.

Characters (Dany, Tyrion, Jon, Jaime etc.) do not behave like would naturally just to make a plot that would fit in for seasons in to two seasons

I know actors and writers do have other responsibilities and it might not have been possible to do two more seasons, but it is still such a shame.

Preface: I don't really watch the show and have tried unsuccessfully to get through the first book. Don't mind spoilers since everyone else keeps me up to date though. Lol.

    That said this is cool:

In preparation for tomorrow nights finale it feels like an informal poll might be in order.

When it comes to GOT 8:6, I currently expect it to be:
    1) Totally awesome (best thing since Valyrian steel)
    2) Enjoyable, but somewhat fake (like a night with Ros)
    3) Moderately entertaining, but totally unrealistic and inconsistent (scorpion accuracy/efficacy anyone?)
    4) Slightly infuriating and annoying (like Bran's and others unfinished story lines)
    5) Total crap and leaving me with the feeling I have to puke (like a cold "Bowl of Brown" from Flea Bottom)
    6) Other (enter GOT analogy here)
    7) I don't give a damn and this show and survey are stupid
    8) 42

I'm personally at 3.5) Setting very low expectations and hoping to be at least somewhat satisfied.

The one thing I'll miss the most is the memes.

Speaking of meme, have some freshly baked OC.

Best thing about this season is people having finale parties tonight can now hate-watch with their friends! That is if anyone shows up...

I think the music by Ramin Djawadi is still extremely powerful, one of the best Soundtracks in TV.
It lets you get caught by hype while watching the episode, only when you look back the flaws in the writing are obvious and staggering.

But hell this song is so good:

Did anyone else notice that Djawadi used some very faint sputtering interference sounds on several episodes this season? I noticed it a few times and initially thought it was something external, but it's definitively in the soundtrack. You can clearly hear them the first time Arya get's knocked out and she's covered in ashes.
