First shot at a lager is coming out nice and clear...but holy moly, 8 weeks....I'll probably go back to ales.

(And yes, I know, it's a baby taster glass...but that's what Rina drinks.)

I wish a transporter existed I’d have you beam one over to me. Looks good.

Edit: Since it doesn’t I going to go pour myself an Anchor.

    Some other beers I've done:

    Schiit No. 2 Brown
    Schiit Outhouse Blend
    Schiitparral (Chaparral Ale)

    Coming up:

    Hot Schiit (Ginger Ale)
    Morning Pys (Wit)

No, we're not getting into the brewing business, I just like to brew from time to time. I have a Zymatic in my home office, but I was forbidden from putting the kegerator in there. Probably a good idea.

#2 we brew a lot, it's an easy drinking ale.

After doing a couple of lagers (the other one is still lagering, a rice lager), I think that our local brewer was right when he said, "Make ales, buy lagers." They just tie up too much space in the kegerator for too long.

Anyone else brew? I know you don't need the fancy Borg brewing crap like Picobrew, but I've never tried it freestyle.

Interesting...I used similar yeast in Pys. It's technically a California Common.

I think we should see it as a form of flattery that LaChouffe is doing "american" beers. They've done a few collaborations with US-based breweries, IIRC.

This oughta get all our west coast frenz all jelly. Jester King is the f'ing business. And if anybody west of the Mississippi can get a hold of some Nimble Giant, you must. Three Notched is establishing itself as a top-tier VA brewery; phenomenal stuff. The DB Clink is shockingly good, despite the fact that DB went the corporate route and are now an AB-InBEV brand now, and almost all of their stuff is kinda trash now. And, wicked weed proves they can do something simple (true pils) that doesn't fall into the trap that "we're used to fake/failed/skunky Pils, so that's what we think the brew is supposed to be".

Folks, a true Pils isn't supposed to smell like Heineken/Pilsner Urquell. Just FYI.

And now you've made me thirsty. Hitting up the growler of Peticolas "Velvet Hammer", which is not bottled, but is delicious. They describe it as an imperial red.

Taking a short break from my usual Lakewood "The Temptress", an imperial milk stout.

    Both about 9%.

Yeah, agree about Troegs' Nimble Giant. My wife got me two cases for Father's Day. She rocks!

Sort of forgot about this thread and I've having a ton of beers lately. Anyway, no picture but I recently had a Zoobrew Nautilus. It's slightly sour beer with salt added. Pretty good with seafood. Decided to add lemon like a hefeweizen and it rounded up the flavors pretty well for me.

Speaking of houblon, I also found a Fischer Houblon. Not really as hoppy as I was expecting.

One would expect the Czechs to know their stuff. That said, Urquell is definitely on the leaner side.

So I guess @YMO isn't the only one who had trouble keeping his schiit in recently.

As an aside, no pics but there's this local pub that does their own brews, I recently discovered that I have a preference for stout. No idea how it compares to just about everything else on display here, but it might have changed my mind on beers as a collective. Might go by again soonish, this was a stressful term :))

LOL, too much beer and I become the Schiitmaker.

No one makes a good German hefe like Weihenstephaner. Amazing beer for a Sunday. I always been a German Beer fan, keep it to the basics and focus on quality control. Even a cheaper German beer will come out better than a regular Bud.

Did you try sugar carbing in the keg? I've never had that come out right for me

I am going to start a hard cider brew this weekend. It's too humid for beer here in Michigan. I don't like sweating bread sugar out of every pore on by body

Nope, that's what's weird, it was just fermenting. I guess the yeast plugged the airlock and blew off the rubber top. I should have watched it more closely.
