    Hello there friends,

    I honestly really like the idea of having a loaner library of gear we do have on-hand to loan out. The previous thread on this is outdated, and instead of trying to sort through and clean it up I decided it would be easier to start fresh. I'll keep this thread updated as new gear gets cycled/retired.

    How this will work is simple; it's just like the regular loaner program threads, except the gear here is stuff that we either own or are allowed to keep within this community. Same rules as our regular loaners apply (so things like shipping, leaving impressions, loaner length, etc). Please do your best to treat the gear here with respect; we want the loaner units to be loved and listened for as long as they last.

    If you would like to check out a loaner, send me a PM detailing exactly what you want to check out. I will do my best to accommodate your schedule for the duration of the loaner, but cannot make guarantees.

    **Rules** (please read before asking to check out any gear)

    • Friends/high contributors only (we reserve the right to do a background check and refuse library privileges)
    • Standard loaner length: 5 days, unless otherwise specified
    • Don't be a hog and try to check out a loaner multiple times!!! I'd much rather you ask for an extended time (which may be granted after deliberation). For now, I'm willing to work with honor system, but this will only last as long as it takes for someone to ruin it for everyone. DON'T BE THAT GUY!!!
    • Only one library item may be checked out per member at a time.

    I'm interested in contributing as well. I suggest we standardize the parameters (where stuff lives, how long loaners are kept, whether you can request an item back (owners) or a second time (recipients), etc.) so that we don't end up in a bad spot because this seems like a great idea with potential for painful abuse.

    Currently, all gear will be held either by me or another staff member. Right now, I'm still trying to iron everything out, but I am open to suggestions.

    Thanks for bringing up some good points!

    I think it's great that some members have gear that you're willing to loan out; however, this list/thread is really only for gear that SBAF owns as a community, or is donated to us (i.e. loaner units that kind manufacturers let us keep, stuff we buy for loaner programs, or gear donations). If you want to loan your gear out and have it back at some point, I'd suggest looking at the thread here.

    There's just too many problems with liability if we have to be responsible for personally owned gear.
