    Hi,
i recently got my new dac/amp, sounds great by the way, and i got a bit lost in all of the Windows config options and drivers. I don't know what is the best in terms of sound and convenience.
I have the official ASIO driver from FiiO and ASIO output plugin in f2k.
However, i don't really understand how it works.
    I see it this way:
F2k outputs directly to the DAC, i can see it changing colors when i feed it 24/96 or 16/44.1
but when i play a youtube video or something, the sound is being pushed through DS at the set format in windows control panel. Is that correct?
I also tried DSD, but that requires me to change the output to "DSD:ASIO:FiiO ASIO Driver", which needs some bit settings (16/24/32), those i have no idea what they do. The DSD output works fine, the DAC light turns green.
What is the best setting or which one would you recommend?
    Thanks
    Dave

Yes, because your browser uses DS and nothing else. It cannot use ASIO or WASAPI.

I think this only has to do with how the DSD is "cloaked" to go over USB audio since there is no DSD audio USB protocol. I don't think it matters too much as long as your DSD light lights up when you play a DSD file from f2k. It means the cloaking is working and there is no DSD to WAV conversion.

Thanks for the answers! So, what does the bit setting in foobar DSD mode change? The maximum output bit depth? Won't it upscale tracks with lower BR or downscale tracks with higher BR?
