Congrats :) nothing more rewarding that something truly complicated coming together.

    Love the stacks!

What year is the engine? Does a modern GT3 crank fit? It makes some sense, I know P cars don't like to change things over the years.

What compression/ fuel octane you running?

What class do you run, I assume Porsche club?

    The offseason can be fun.

The stacks will look different with the air filters in place but they sure are handsome like they are now.

It’s a Porsche Motorsports crank for a 2012 GT3 Cup Car. Even though the engine is water cooled, it uses the same basic Metzger block design from early 90’s air-cooled engines. So it drops right in with no modifications required. The engine will spin over 8000RPM safely but I will keep it at 8000 or less. The compression ratio is not that aggressive...about 11.5 to 1. I will run 100 octane unleaded race gas.

The engine block came from 1994 car. The race car is in PCA GT3R. With a 3.6L engine the car can weigh in at 2232 with me in it.

I was able to do a 1:32 at Laguna with old engine built for a different class this engine should have at 80 hp more peak and even more lower in the RPM range. The old engine is the same displacement but had a single restrictive throttle body and a more restrictive header setup due to rules in a different class. Throttle response will be wicked in comparison.

The 2019 Cup Car leading me in this video won’t be running away from me on straights anymore:

Very cool, makes me sad... sold my track car when my son was born a few years back.

I will get back into it in a few years or 10... probably build up a E46 M3. Love my M cars.

That cup car was real slow in the corners... wow. You should have some fun next season!

Yeah, he had you in the straightaways, but you clearly had the better skills/traction in the corners. With some extra oomph you shouldn't need to wait until he spins out like he did that time. Well done and very cool to watch.

Cup car driver almost looks like they don't know how to drive... granted I haven't been to Laguna yet and probably wouldn't fare much better my first time either.

Would love to take my daily just to see how it'd go.

The Cup Car was relatively new to the driver. His only prior experience was in an air-cooled car less capable than mine.

My power to weight ratio should be about the same as a current Cup Car. My car weighs 600 lbs less but has less power. I don't have the sequential gearbox or the 6 gears so I suspect I won't be faster down the straight but I should be right there. A well driven 2019 Cup Car would be a fun race for my new setup.
