Look on the bright side, at least you paid $300, instead of $550 or $850. Of course shipping costs can't be recouped.

I have the part number for the fans. Just plug and play. Used Vidar for the Dynaudios.

I'm pretty sure Parasound guy hates my guts. I think there is a new Parasound A23+ version now. Hahaha. Probably still sucks.

Yep, no use crying over it, should've done my homework better. It is a piece of shit in a pretty box though, I can confirm that. There is a 23+ model now, doesn't look too different though.

I think I'll listen to you and go for the Vidar. I haven't owned any Schiit gear yet so why not start there.

This is a reply to the comments made by the reviewer of the Parasound A23. Poppycock to everything he said. I was partners in and audio store from the 1980s to 2010 when the store closed, so I've heard and reviewed lots of stuff: Amplifiers, speakers, turntables, preamps, etc., etc. I presently have a Parasound A23 which I bought to replace a Mark Levinson No334. I wanted an amplifier that had guts but was not a back breaker. The A23 is an absolutely wonderful amplifier. On my Cadence ARCA, hybrid electrostatics, it does noting wrong: Bass is tight, solid with lots of punch and micro detail. The rest of the frequency spectrum is detailed and smooth, with extended highs that are not grainy or harsh; cymbals, brushes on high hats, tinkley Chinese bells, xylophone, etc., ect., are spot on excellent with great detail. I personally don't know what the reviewer was reviewing when he made his comments, but it was not the A23 amplifier. Perhaps it was something else in his audio chain he was hearing, but, again, it was not the A23. I don't mean to be rude, but I hope reviewing audio equipment is not the reviewer's day job.

    Sincerely,

    GG.

Here, I rewrote your counterpoint with a simple model name substitution - replacing Parasound A23 with Ziggadoodle Z57.

I absolutely mean to be rude: You need to get your ears checked. I bet you are one of those old people at audio shows who is deaf.

Appeals to your unknown authority won't get you far here. Thanks for your review, professional.

If you bothered reading the thread you'd notice he wasn't the only one who thought the A23 was a POS.
