Comfort is pretty stellar on the Verum and the weight is no where like ZMF/Audeze so you shouldn't worry. I can wear it for hours without discomfort. There is a bit of a clamping force, but nothing excessive.

The comfort of the Verum is indeed stellar. The strap is like a pillow that sits on the top of your head. The original headband was clearly designed for comfort and function rather than looks. There is of course additional weight, but it's fine. The HD650 makes itself disappear quickly, so it's hard to beat. Your head will feel less light with the Verum. It never got in the way of music enjoyment for me.

Comfort itself is excellent after adjusting, adjustment is not so convenient.

Whoops, I lost track of this thread, is it possible to get a new handband & strap and stick it on my original cups?

Got to say...these are fantastic headphones! We just got ours (ordered in December, I think?)

Looking forward to the new headband.

@schiit Cool! Waiting for a bit more impressions in a week or so.

p.s. I have magni 3+ that is IMHO the best amp in its price range but... it served me bad. Why? Cause I don't understand when my clients write to me that Verum 1 is amp dependent. And i've realized that not all budget amps are engineered so well to handle low ohm load.

Yep, your headphones seem to do fine on our stuff from Magni 3 on up. Hel is OK, Fulla 3 struggles a bit. And of course Valhalla 2 is out. Even though it's a low impedance load, the high sensitivity makes it a pretty easy pairing in general.

I'm cheating a bit and using Ragnarok 2. Which is stupid overkill, but it sounds amazing!

Congrats, this is an amazing value.

Now that's an epic pairing :) I wonder, given proper wiring, the Jotunheim-R should provide some awesome current to the Verums right?

@schiit - why call it cheating if Verum 1 scales so well?
@Baten - i don't understand why everyone think that Verum 1 need big amount of current. About 500ma will provide spl close to damage hearing level.

for me it is an addictive bass Verum1 is capable when fed enough power, mainly :)

More then enough power is 1w @ 8 ohm in peaks. It's about 400 ma. You know, I'm from a speakerland so for me was a surprise that stationary amps that have problems with this even exists.

Optimizations, same as anything else in engineering!

My Af was made to drive high eff. speakers, so it puts ~4w into 8ohm.

The Makoyi I use for the Verum was made for planars and is like 4.5w peak.

The T4 was made for dynamics, I think it peaks at 330mW.

    330 mw at what load?

75, that's where the focals are at impendance wise.

I think it's like 290mw with the 300ohm loads I run on it.

That's what it was designed for, 75 to 300.

Those types of power rating are common for tube amps designed only for dynamics, the Schiit Valhalla also peaks at 330mw, although it does that into 600ohm.

Now if I was to plug Verum - or any other planar - into such an amp they would be unhappy, but that'd be on me for being a moron xD

Exactly, tube amps is another dimension. But in a modern magick world of chi-fi i've encountered solid-state amps with 10 ohm output impedance that can't deliver 1w@8ohm. And that was a surprise :D (greetings to Topping)

    Oh yeah, those amps!

That was very, very common before @schiit gave us the Magni, if you wanted decent amps you spent a lot of money, went dyi, or maybe some small 1-man shop would do runs based on dyi designs.

As for why some still do it - so long as the SnR and THD is good, ASR and r/headphones will eat it up, and your margins stay high, so why work harder? :3

Heck, the Fiio E10k was popular with laptop users for a while and that has all of what, 200mw out? It's enough for headsets and fashion cans! *shrug*
