    Atomicbob,

Just wanted to add a huge huge thank you for doing all of this. From your research I've gone from making a mostly uninformed and knee jerk decision of using a LPS because it's "probably better" to deciding to stick with the SMPS because its less error prone from an operational standpoint and the sonic differences are likely small to imperceptible (I won't be using iems with the amp).

Hi, is it ideal to plug the power supply of the Liquid Platinum to a UPS just in case there is power interruption?

No. Solid state gear is fine to power off. You are not really losing much here as far as warm up time. And wear and tear on the power supply is going to happen no matter what as caps charge and discharge. And the power supply is completely replaceable, so you're fine.

The concern with the Liquid Platinum is that if the power goes off while the amp is turn on and then the power comes back on while the amp still has the power button on the amp will turn on without going through the full timed power on sequence. And that could damage the amp.

If you're likely to have power outages and glitches I would consider a UPS for the amp. Otherwise I'd be careful about using it during storms and other times when there could be power glitches.

I've been considering getting a suitable UPS to use with the Liquid Platinum (and future Liquid Gold X) and my Schiit multibits. But I haven't yet. My power is reliable so it hasn't been a priority for me.
