I need to try the perf Ori - mine are the solid lambskin version. I got them before the perforated stock pads existed and was simply trying to find something for my dumbo ears.

I have tried a few solid pads myself. As long as (1) the size and opening are kinda similar with Ori, and (2) the more angled the better, it works too. More warmth and fun bass. But less air and clarity. I use them mainly for mainsteam pop music.

In the end, these are flavors. Since it's so easy to change pads, I keep different flavors for the Verum, depending on my mood, music and gears. But if I have to recommend one pads, it would be the perforated ZMF Ori or something close to it, like the perforated Universe pads.

    Verum 1 mk2 impressions:

In general new look is a big improvement compared to originals (cat ears vs classic).
Boobinga color looks quite nice and blends nicely with my teak/ mahogany furniture/ decor.
The are quite heavy, but comfort wise on par with HD650 (original and leather memory foam pads).
The supplied pads are of good quality (pierced leather), however using memory foam would be a better idea.
Strap works quite nicely (very nice to touch faux leather, would prefer real one though), regulation is good though takes some effort to adjust. Quite comfortable for many hours even in quite warm room.
Spring tension is OK on head, but the headphone tends to crash violently if removed with one hand.
So I need to use both hands to avoid damage...

Cable is quite thick and sturdy, but looks nice. It is microphone cable, so it is not possible to modify it to balanced connector.
I think I would have preferred previous cable based on reviews, especially that it included big jack converter.
Also, straight jacks should be avoided and angled jack are much better.
Due to misunderstanding I did not use it with original cable and I DIY new balanced cable bymodifying Forzaworks color series. I also received later from Garuspik 3.5mm version with angled jacks that works quite well.

Sound wise I like them a lot, very nice vocal and super bass - very detailed, fast and clear.
Compared to HD650 they leak more sound outside.
Also to play well at high volume they need quite a lot of current, otherwise they can put a lot of distortion. Still at moderate volume even iPhone can drive them ok.

    Overall quite happy with them.

    Customer support:
Overall long wait for order, mostly due to COVID situation. However the updates could be more frequent.
The headphones were also stuck at custom for quite some time (over a week).
Communication tone in general neutral. English level is communicable, yet be careful for misunderstandings.
For example, I was told I can cut the cable for DIY balanced jack, but it was not true (it is microphone cable, 2 signal plus shield). In the end I received replacement cable, so I consider it good customer support.

Finally, I don't like the waypay system: it states price in USD, but charges in Ukrainian hryvnia. Hence you need to expect extra charges of $10 or more (depending on your conversion rates). I was told it is due to goverment regulation, but it should be stated at the beginning.

Hi, anyone have Verum email or phone number? Can you message me if you have it?

I've tried to contact Verum to get an update about the purchase I made on April. I use the contacts page on their site. After a week pass they still didn't contact me, I wrote another message on their contacts and still no email or anything from them. I don't have any ways to know if they have received my message. Any suggestion what should I do now?

I'm able to reach out to the guy, and he's still dealing with the ear pad order that's been stuck for months.
From what I've heard, he's trying to get those ear pads produced locally.
He gave me a shipping estimate for April / May / June orders around mid to late August.
    We'll see how it goes!

Can you private message me his contact? I would like to get some acknowledgement from him that he have received my order.

I'm not sure how does PM work in here. I created a conversation with another member in here but no response from him, or does he even receive the message.

Sorry you have had trouble contacting him through his website.

    Edit: corrected second sentence.

I contacted him through his Verum site's Contacts. Already been about 2 weeks since the first time I contacted him but so far still no email from him. Total 2 times I have use it to message him. Since there's no reply from him or even auto reply I don't know whether he did receive my message.

That's why I post it here now. If someone have his email or phone number please message me so that I can directly contact him.

Before he was banned here, he used to post production updates in this thread. For example "just shipped out February orders" and "having problems getting materials for x" were both somewhat common.

He also stated here, multiple times, that he does not respond to "what is the status of my order" questions... probably because he is a one-man shop. Bad customer service decision, but it's clear that the niceties of customer service wasn't exactly his forte.

Yes, I was following the updates in here from early of this year until on April I decided to purchase it. Since he always post update here I didn't directly contact him as on the last update he mentioned haven't start shipping April order.

Now almost a month since his ban, and he doesn't have any other public site that he give updates on the progress. Hopefully he can start contacting his customers for update. Myself, and I believe other buyers too will feel anxious now that we can't get updates anymore.

Garuspik better figure out how to communicate with his customers (people who have paid him). Whether it is regular update on his website, or through other means. Otherwise it will only further damage his business.

At least he could set auto-responder for his email:
I know you want your headphones, but just wait (and give current production update).

I reached out via email about an order placed in April. He responded stating he has shipped out all April, May and 70% of June orders. Hopefully those waiting will start to receive their orders.

Whenever I cover the grill with the hand I hear the sound strangely changed (damped?).
Is it specific to Verum or all planars? Interesting effect but it lower slightly usability of headphones...

Something like that did not happen on HD650 etc.

Sorry it is not even comparable and clearly shows you don't know what I mean.
When I cover ear I get lower volume and muffled sound. Whereas with hand on Verum I get effect more similar to water in one ear...

BTW I love that my point got one dislike for serious question, whereas post type "I'm dealing with stupid" several likes.

So you listen to your headphones while holding your hands over the cups and block the grills?

Edit: that was mean and pretty vulgar from me, I take it back

Well is not weird right (the dislike)?!
Since we are kids we have a pretty natural understanding of acoustics...you cover your ear and the sound changes and then someone bought, or you tried, a pair of headphones and you also quickly realized the changes when u cover your ear up.

Difference? In one the sounds comes from outside the "cup" (that you do with your hands) and in the other the sounds is within the "cup".

Why would someone think that this would change with the type of (open in particular) headphones is what surprises me a bit.

If you cover something the amount of air that circulates changes and hence it influences other things. So what is exactly your doubt? I feel that it has to have more to it but I don't see what.
