Soranik IEMs Impressions and Discussion

Soranik just notified me that they finished tuning the chambers for the final Versailles for me. Apparently because my ear canals were too asymmetric, the tuning process was a bit tricky, but they got it done and are going to finish assembly by the end of the weekend. Exciting!

I just went ahead and ordered the final version of the Versailles, despite having only heard the prototype. From measurements, it looks fairly different (for the better), so I'm looking forward to hearing it!

I’m very interested in your thoughts on the Versailles when you get them. and pics etc. when you get them.

I’m hoping to try the Bastille soon -I think it should be on the way shortly now. I should ask about the measurements - I’m curious - are the measurements specific to your ear or a refinement of the model itself?


Both IEMs seem to be really interesting...I’m trying to figure out which one I’d like more. If the main difference is the sound signature then that makes things easier. I don’t know if there’s a price difference or not yet.

Also getting some new custom tips soon from soranik.

I have two different demo units right now from Soranik. The Bastille and I think the second one is a reiteration(?) of the bastillle with different tuning.

My impressions in a nutshell: The new soranik IEMs...well, they’re really, really, really good. I need to post pics but I’ve been crazy busy lately. I’m just trying out the universal demos at the moment.

I especially like the imaging and positioning, in addition to everything else.

There really is something to this design with no crossover - it sounds more natural, less contrived/digital (?) - maybe the best way to explain it is that they sound smoother, without losing detail, maybe. If you A/B vs. another IEM with a similar diver setup that has a crossover, you’ll start to hear the difference. And either way, you’ll hear a difference. It’s very smooth, yet detailed and just super pleasant to listen to. Imaging is very presice - more so than most I’ve tried.

Tempted to just ask if I can purchase the universal demos I have, but I kinda (reslly) want the customs

Have tried the dunu Luna, dunu zen, dunu dk-4001, SA6, and more, etc., which I all love.

But the Soranik IEMs...I LOVE them, and in a different way. They’re definitely unique, especially if you keep a trained ear on them, you’ll start to hear it.


TLDR: IMO, Soranik’s got something unique here that is pretty special and stands out as an achievement and really, really nice experience that’s perhaps worthy of a “big-brand” name, if that makes sense.

Need to figure out my custom design and get it squared away. I think they’ve been busy lately but I’m not sure ; )

Soranik will soon be sending me all 6 of their iem’s for loaner tours. They will be paired and organized into 3 separate tours. Very excited to hear their unique iem’s.

 

Thank goodness the Bastille Signature & Bastille Audiophile will be loaners.
