Mtmtaudio is awesome. At my suggestion they will soon be the only place you can buy a multi size pack of Sedna earfit tips. (Except for the xelastic which are available in a multi size pack on amazon

I just got what must be JVC spiral dot tips in the mail after 2 months waiting. They came in a container with a bunch of other tips I ordered at the same time as the spiral dots. But for the life of me I couldn’t see any spiral dots inside, even when holding them up to the light so the dots would reflect light. I resorted to to taking a close up picture with flash to find out.

here’s the marketing pics which make them seem pronounced.

And here’s my picture. You can in fact just barely make out tiny spiral dots. I have a hard time believing such tiny dots have any effect. But the proof is in the pudding! Well see as I listen more

Not sure if this helps but I ordered a pair of large generic TS400 4.9mm bore foams from AliExpress. They measure 13.7mm O.D. at their widest point.

I need to get my shit together!!

In all seriousness though, I like keeping the packaging to remember for example which model number Spinfit is tip is which. But I suppose it would be easy to find that online if I forgot.

Anyone have any recommendations for thin, bright sounding tips? For the Andromeda 2020 which is bassy and shelved pretty severely in the upper frequencies. Though I’d like to avoid uppermidrange peaks and focus more in bringing up the treble.

    my two favorites are

these cheapo no name tips from Penon Audio these are my #2 brightest/thinnest sounding tip.
    https://penonaudio.com/3-pairs-in-ear-silicone-eartips.html

And my brightest/leanest sounding tip is the Spinfit CP500

    https://www.amazon.com/SpinFit-CP500-Patented-Silicone-Replacement/dp/B07JK4R4R4

but they’re both a little too small even in size large and don’t keep the iem’s secure.

I was hoping the Azla Sedna eaefit Light tips would be bright enough (they’re very long tips, maybe my number 3 brightest after all the Spinfits which are all bright sounding) but they weren’t. Fit “like a leather glove” though.

IIRC you have the kz/tennmak whirlwind tips.

The other ones that may work are JVC spiral dots, JVC spiral dots++ or perhaps Auvio.

    These are all widebore, ymmv.

Thanks for recommending the spiral dots, I previously experienced them being quite warm. I don't know why. But your post got me to try them again on my og Solaris and it's the best tip for them by far!!

I broke down and ordered the super expensive Spiral Dot ++ tips because of this experience to see if they sound better. First o all, the "stiff silicone cylinder" is hardly stiff, the tips are not much different from the regular ones. The biggest difference is that they are way smaller. Large fits me great in the regular Spiral Dot tips. Large was more like Medium with the ++ version. So that's 50$ down the drain.

I guess I'll see if someone wants to buy them.

But be warned the ++ went from the Spiral Dots running a bit large (actually my experience is that they are sized properly compared to other tips - Large is 14mm) to running way smaller than the norm.

Are Spinfit tips fairly thin/pliable? About to buy a set of CP100 for my Blon-03, but trying to figure out if I want the M or L. The current tips I have, which are the only decent ones I found, came from a bag of random tips I got with something long ago and seem to be 12-13mm wide, but are very pliable. Normally I use narrower tips esp if they’re stiffer, but none I have are a long enough stem for the Blon. If they’re somewhat stiff, I’ll probably go with the M (12.2mm wide) but if pretty thin/pliable, I may try the L (13.3mm wide) instead.

Yep, they're pretty pliable. If the stems are still not long enough for a good fit with the 03, cut short sections of stem off a waste pair to make extender gaskets for them.

Ok thanks, good info. The one’s I have currently that seem to do ok are ~10mm stems, so thinking they might be ok (SFs are 9.7 or 9.9mm stems) - will see.

I'd go for the L. They are very thin and pliable. My only complaint about them. The CP100 is perfect because it has a long stem which is what you're wanting. All Spinfit tips have longer stems than any other tips, but the CP100 is the longest. They also add a HUGE boost to the soundstage and imaging which is really great. Also they tend to "refine" the sound of iems. Some iems the have rough treble are made much better with Spinfit tips. Everything sounds cleaner. And they are fairly bright tips (treble, not upper midrange) because of the length of the cylinder, so that's a factor in your decision. If you don't want your iems brighter, they won't work. But they do not decrease the bass at all.

I'll echo what the others side regarding them thin and pliable. However, I'm not a fan. They are too thin to me and I have trouble keeping a seal with them on some IEM depending on insertion angle; the thin silicone just tends to break seal for me. Every once in a while, I come across an IEM that fits better with them and they'll sound pretty good but those are my exceptions.

The rotating notch in the stem causes the bore to narrow in the middle of it. Technically this should somewhat decrease treble, acting as a kind of reverse horn. However, in usage I've not really found it to perceptibly attenuate treble, so perhaps impact of the notch is pretty negligible.

Did you try the inside-out KZ star-lines? Stem length =10mm, much less pliable, reportedly popular for the Blon 03. Offer still stands if you want a pair in M.

They are. The worst part about that is that you will probably only get 1 usable set out out of it and the rest will be too small or too large. There used to be a place called Musica Acoustics that was a Japanese importer and could get 5pr all the same size. Also Drop did the same once, if I’m not mistaken. But yeah, those are my favorites.

Thinking about trying them out, but normally I don't beyond the included tips of an IEM. Thanks for the confirmation.

Has anyone else noticed that tips “break in”?

When I first use a new tip it seems much larger with better grip then a day or so later after using them all day. I just tried Azla Sedna Earfit (regular black) in size large and realized they fit albeit tightly. They were solid in my ears and as I said even a little tight fitting. By the next day or two they were sliding in and out of my ears freely with no resistance and absolutely no tightness.

this happens with all silicone tips I’ve used and has been a big source of confusion and aggravation. Tips always wind up loosely goosey in my ears no matter how well they fit initially.

i figure the silicone absorbs some body oils from skin and both softens and gets slippery? (I have super clean ears I’ve never had them professionally cleaned because my doctor has examined them and said they are clean. Since high school I’ve cleaned them with nothing but hot water flush in the shower.).

Have you experienced this? What do you think causes it?
