The other one I saw fairly often over in Der Schweiz was Weissbier mitt Orangensaft usually when having meusli and yoghurt. Never tried the combo, but probably pretty tasty. French do a similar breakfast with yoghurt over a single 'Murrican shredded wheat loaf and a Mimosa.

So after the Eisbock, I needed to downshift a bit.

One of my favorite Pils. Extremely solid and have a more flavor profile than other Pils where they focus too much on the hops.

It's so woody, caramely, thicc, deep, dark, dank.
Lagunitas regular stuff is meh, but when they do a passion beer (not one to keep the lights on, but one they WANT to make), it's often at least a little bit glorious.

Went to Total Wine today to stock up. Been awhile that I drink some of the recommendations that I gave to @shotgunshane. It's getting "cool" enough in FL to enjoy the stronger brews for once. Those who know me can see which bottle that I picked up was out of my comfort zone.

    Drinking this:

Erdinger's Dunkel isn't the most complex Dunkel that I had, but for the price and a just nice touch of hops makes this a great Dunkel for those who don't want to spend too much on a four pack of the Ayinger Dark Larger/Dunkel However, Ayinger's Dunkel is light but a little more complex than the Erdinger, but a four pack is about $12-$13 while Erdinger is a six-pack at $10.

Watching Raised by Wolves and enjoying a return to some Belgians. The St Bernardus is a bit spicier and denser. The Westmalle is crisper and airier with a feeling of carbonation on the tongue.

I'm uncultured swine drinking this top-flight IPA straight from a can, so there's no picture in a glass.
It's got that hop sweetness without the hop stankness, which is seemingly difficult to achieve. I like the deep stank too, but it's good to be able to separate them and appreciate each for what it brings to the table.
This is another one of the passion project beers that don't keep the lights on but are made for beer fans (and Avery has plenty of those).
Anyhow, it's very tasty and it's worth a purchase if you see it when out and about.

    Avery Brewing sucks ass,
born in Boulder County and their recipes have the imagination of a door knob.
have been boycotting them for the last 10 years at minimum, and hope they go bankrupt one day.

For those of us that don't - is it the one brewed in Belgium?

I agree on the bulk of the stuff coming out of there in bottles and cans, but stuff that never makes it out of the tap house and some of the demons can be fantastic and distinct. I have not had the hazy IPA above though, so I cannot comment on that one.

My dude, I appreciate your opinion, but what about Samael's Ale? What about Mephistopheles Stout? I agree that their normie beers are trash, but that's true of any good brewery. What's your beef, because it seems obviously personal? I'm pretty picky, and this stands above the norm for me. I respect you as a person and I want to understand this big dislike that you have.

Yep, I can't wait to try the Westmalle so I can perhaps trigger @shotgunshane and @jexby on using the wrong glass for that one. I picked up two bottles at Total Wine yesterday, but they are the small ones so that should be enough to ruffle @jexby feathers. ;)

Hah, nice. Perhaps the dubbel shouldn’t challenge you too much, since it is not that different from a bigger doppelbock. Sort of related fun fact: the only brewery-specific glass I own is the Westmalle chalice, but I use it to drink Rochefort 10s because I think they are way better.

I know this is a beer thread but that bacon looks especially delicious. Also, nice purse.

GF's purse, we love some meows in our apt.

Still great as always. Due to being a Dopplebock/Weizen mix, this should be served in a Wheat glass (but a trappist style glass would do ok here). Due to the higher alcohol content, the head goes down super fast. This still have some carbonation thanks to the Weizen that's in it.
