Off topic: You've worded it like an analyst giving a breakdown, or somebody who's used to gauging markets at least. Do you have a lot of experience with that? I'm curious as to what you do/have done for your career?

Nope, no business experience, just some observation, common sense and analytical thinking. And some acquired cynicism.

It looks like from a number of posts that n3rdling is being encouraged to manufacture these, but whether it will happen or not is anyone's guess.

    Guys, any update on these?

I went to the nerdbird audio website and these are on sale for $15 to $25? Wtf I'm assuming the price is a placeholder and these have been delayed.

Sorry I haven't been around, I had setbacks last year outside the obvious. Life hit pretty hard and I haven't been on any of the forums or as on top of completing this as I should. I try to keep up with my email though, which is what alerted me to your post.

Ignore the pricing, that was just me testing some website stuff out.

Regarding the status of the headphones: the parts are now production-ready and tested, I just need to make payment for manufacture. I've developed relations with factories I fully trust after having to cut my losses with some shady businessmen - long story for another time. I need to get some tax stuff done first and then I'll be pulling the trigger on parts manf.

As a teaser, I've greatly improved on several aspects of the original Sennheiser cable/any Stax cable, including cable capacitance. I'll get my LCR meter out and follow up, but expect these to be about the easiest stats to drive in terms of current. This alone should also be a big deal to those interested in pairing some of the hard to drive Stax with non-flagship amps, as they'll save a ton of money simply by swapping the cable and thus making their HP way easier to drive instead of paying thousands more to upgrade to more powerful amps. Yes, a cable that actually makes a difference, empirically. :p

Awesome! I remembered listening to these at a SBAF mini-meet a few years ago. The system @n3rdling had setup was by far my favorite of everyone there.

@n3rdling glad to see you back around these parts! I was wondering what happened to you ;)

I was at many of the meets and concur that the Orpheus clones with Aristeus were by far the best system around!
