@rhythmdevils, before I sign up would you say that the Bastille (one or both) have better (or same, or worse) sibilance then either the JVC ha fdx1 or CA Ara (which are about the same to my ears). From your review I think you would say the Bastille's are warmer overall than fdx1 or Ara I think.

Now that I am jumping on the IEM bandwagon, I am realizing how much this sibilance is bothering me. Maybe it's my ear cannels however and any IEM for me is going to do this...

edit: I forgot to tell you @YMO I have the AKM chips in my M6 Pro, not the Sabre's.

 

I haven’t heard the FDX1 because I know I wouldn’t be able to stand them. The Ara is super picky about fit and tips. Once I got the right fit it wasn’t sibilant for me but it still has a little brightness.

none of the iem’s Soranik sent me have even a hint of brightness or peaks of any kind in the treble. They are extremely well tuned. I’m sure someone at Soranik is a perfectionist. The only one that could be harsh on some recordings is the Bastille Audiophile due to the intentional upper midrange bump but like I said it’s the most tastefully done upper midrange bump I think I’ve ever heard. Just a little added attention to certain frequencies ie female vocals but it’s just shy of really being harsh. That said it was a bit prickly on my toughest harshness test tracks. I think the vast majority of people would have no problem with even the Audiophile version. The Signature is super neutral just lacking a bit of body in the lower mids if I’m nit picking. Very flat (true flat not “revealing” aka bright “flat”).

the Versailles and Bastille Signature should be heard if this is a concern to you. Or the Gaudio Nair or Andromeda 2020 or og Solaris.

Very interested in trying these. Your description makes me wonder which I will prefer. It’s actually awesome to be able to compare IEMs with signatures which are ‘close’ like these. A chance to educate myself about my own preferences.

Plus, maybe I’ll find a new favorite!

Is there a product page for these? Also, pic looks like 2-pin connectors, correct? Can you say what cable terminations might be included w/ the loaner?

Yes they are 2 pin connectors unfortunately but the stock cables are sooooooo nice. They all have 3.5mm connectors.

Soranik is setting up a new website now. In the meantime I think you order on their Facebook page but I’m waiting for them to clear this up. And all SBAFers get a 20% discount. It will be made clear by the time this gets going.

@crenca @lcmusiclover can you post your locations? I love ya but I can’t keep everyone’s location straight.
