finally got to try Sculpin IPA- What a freaking disappointment. Was expecting epic IPA hop flavors. What I got was muddled bitterness with no character and a rather mundane overall impression. Thanks for whiskey sidecars.

    ^ shocker.
let's consider a mantra of this thread, mainly
Amerikan IPAs are largely repetitive hacks and shortcuts to anyone with a distinguished beer palette.

Weather is mostly still too hot for beer (which I survive on Non-Sweet Tea or Arnold Palmers with Non-Sweet Tea and little bit of real lemonade). I'll get some relief soon on the weather since October is coming up.

But I had some good stuff yesterday.

Hacker-Pschorr Hefeweizen. One of the classics hefe brews, never is my favorite but always good when I feel like drinking it. Restaurant gives it with lemon by default, which isn't my thing but it does add extra taste. Restaurant is good since happy hour tall glasses are 2-for-1 for all imports (normally $7 for one glass).

I needed the beer to help balance out the brats since food for me was heavy.

The Krombacher lager (their basic one of all). Good as always for a mainstream German lager that blows almost all standard American beers.

"World's best Hefe" is real according to the World Beer Awards 2020. But I used it tongue-in-cheek, as the handful of participants is not representative of the whole world.

Water can be tweaked these days. Under normal/natural circumstances, the Rockies water would not allow the brewing of Pilsner...the water in Pilsen is dead flat without any minerals.

The local hard water would be good for dark ales (only), compare to Munich and Dublin.

Yeast is not part of the Bavarian purity law as they didn't know microorganisms at the time.

But, the Fahr beer is good. Both Hefe and Pilsner. Nothing particularly special, however reliable and just fine.

    Prost!

Yes, Krombacher Hell is good as it is not agressive tasting. Flows well :).

They are typically overhopped, probably by a factor of 4 to 5. I am getting man boobs from them (hops contains a female estrogen).

Having done one half of that - I can't remember how many times - I would caution you to be careful what you wish for! :p

Hopefully you know its all the carbohydrates and not soy beans and hops.

This would be the place to go...as the way from one brewery to another is just across the street. Bamberg received much more extensive treatment than even some countries in earlier editions of Michael Jackson's pocket beer guide.

I just correlate 'over hopped' beers with higher ABV... pure calories from carbohydrates. I'm sure consuming tons of anything isn't good for anyone's bitch tits. I've read the studies for hops and soy and all other estrogen increasing foods, but dang - someone is over indulging if hop water grows boobies.

Hops also helps women to ease menstruation. And it belongs to the cannabis family. The abbess Hildegard von Bingen was allegedly the first to mention hops in association with beer brewing (12th century). She also generated the first written account of the female orgasm.

These beers with German names have to be avoided :).

Disclaimer: the slides in my posts are from an ever growing presentation on beer (paired with nonsense) - including its own tasting event. It had become so popular that I was actually flown in to give that presentation. Then the pandemic stroke...in the meantime, my focus has shifted on portable audio. Both beer and audio are strictly non profit.

Well, stamina is an asset. I started at the tender age of 2 (years).

Here a 5-minute TV clip which we did with Deutsche Welle TV. Caution, may contain beer and wine.

Schöfferhofer grapefruit. I know people get the Lemon Radler by the cans, but I really like the hefe mixed with grapefruit. One of the few beers I can drink when Florida is super hot due to low APV. However, I can drink like four cans in a day...which doesn't help at all since it is tasty lol.

And those were ribeyes that I made yesterday with a crap ton of stuff on them as I like.

Night time drink. Weihenstephaner Helles, which is also known in US as the Original. First time I saw this being sold in cans. Very tasty for a lager (could be one of my favorites), but overpriced for $10 for four cans. Krombacher at least in US is very solid with their lagers on a cheaper cost if that's your thing.

    Back again......

I enjoy the Julius Echter Dunkel Hefe for its smoother character, but not losing its Hefe roots.

Bam Biere from Jolly Pumpkin. This was possibly my favorite pub in Ann Arbor, though I spent more afternoons at Grizzly Peak. I haven't been to Michigan in almost 2 years though
