That finish is lovely and goes rather well with surroundings!

Here’s my Neat P58 Idler turntable that I lubricated and replinth’d myself along with a 3d printed tonearm mount. There’s some rookie mistakes made but I’m quite proud of it being my first project working with wood

Wow! Great to see another P58 user. Not too many of these around. FR24 is a fine choice. :punk:

You probably read about the Shield MO19/P58H which I've had for at least 20 years. The P58 is more recent. Send me a message in the blog with your email, it won't be published and I'll reply to you directly.

    Happy Holidays!

I'm getting strong widebander vibes from that shot. Very cool.

I have been using a Dual 510 while some projects come together. At first glance the wood grain and plastic top give an impression of cheapness, indeed this table does commonly sell for around ~$150, but it's actually a very good belt-drive table and easily as good as new tables costing up to $1000 today.

It was very easy to service with a nice motor and platter. All the money was put where it matters with this table.

The tonearm is good too but expects a certain breed of cartridge. I'm using a Pickering XSV3000 which is a period correct match. Highly recommended if you can find one in good condition.

Ah, memories. You remind me that my college table was a Dual 505. All I remember about it.

Early birthday present in the form of this new LED lamp! Otherwise, it's a pretty pedestrian setup!

The plastic plinth'd CS505-1 I had in the early 80s was probably a watered down version of your deluxe 510!:)

I thought I would post the end result of my LP12 refurb

I have spent the past few weeks retromodding an original 1973 LP12 and finally got to spin a few discs this weekend. It has lived up to all my expectations and then some. I know there are fans of the LP12 and there are haters, I have become a fan.

The messy pic from where I was sitting ( it was late so I had it hooked up to headphones )

and a closer but still grainy cellphone pic

full details of all the mods in the DIY forum

set up is LP12 , AudioQuest AQ404B (made for Audio Quest by Scan-Tech who also made the early Linn Arkiv cartridges and later became Lyra), Laconic phono - Cavalli Liquid Glass - headphones / amp : DIY first watt M2X - Maggies 0.7i

Current setup - Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Evo. I just got about a month ago. Nothing too fancy but I like it so far. I used to have a Basis 1400, but got out of the hobby for twelve years or so (life, kids, etc). The system is dedicated to headphone listening.

Nice. From what I read, they are what gave life to the Linn LP12

Yes! The Thorens TD150 was also a major influence in Ivor's design.

I’ve wanted a Gyro ever since I’d first heard of them when I was a teenager. I finally got one and even thought it’s not perfectly set up yet, it’s surpassed my expectations. The most frisson-inducing part is just how wide of a stage this gives—the only other times I’ve heard this in the digital world were with an M1SE and WaveDream. I thought this would kill my desire to get a Bricasti-level DAC but this has only made that stronger. For now though, I’m more interested in finding more music than buying more gear.

The Jonokuchi’s running out of gas with my modded Fortes, but that will be replaced with a DG300B soon.
