My pepper grinder has a mix with equal parts green, black and white peppercorns. Great balance of heat and flavor.

Never pink peppercorns though, that shit tastes gross.

I've got a jar of "cayenne" pepper in my desk that is full of powdered ghost pepper, I actually like it in moderation, though moderation for me is likely way too much for most people, maybe any at all is too much for most. I didn't try to set a trap or anything, it was actually given to me by the previous receptionist... we would trade hot sauces, peppers, and spicy food.
I feel like if someone raids my desk for spices without asking they kinda deserve whatever they get though.

I don't understand how I came to have an unlabelled plain glass jar of cayenne, especially as, by that age, I had only ever lived with flat/housemates. Maybe everybody else knew too. And I personally, seldom used it, like the jar of salt, which, at my consumption rate, lasted for years.

Pages 4 and 5 have me in tears.

Legit curious - in the same way some people have a higher concentration of taste buds on the tongue, more (quantitatively) smell receptors and/or more sensitive receptors in the nose, do some people have more heat / spicy receptors in the mouth to the point of being able to find ketchup or black pepper spicy???

Also curious because I can go decently spicy but in the last 10 or so years, but I cannot tolerate hot (temperature) anymore. Odd b/c supposedly it's the same receptors that are responsible for us sensing both of spicy and hot... that and I will frequently burn the top of my mouth now - never had an issue with this before.

I remember having a Maharaja Mac with lamb patties in New Delhi back in 1999. It was tasty :D

Due to the recent events in Europe, McDonald's in Taiwan has stopped selling French fries, and other chain fast-food restaurants now touting sweet potato fries!

3rd and 4th largest potato producers in the world are Russia and Ukraine. I wouldn't be surprised if issues with potatoes there would affect everyone else

US/Egypt/South Africa potato production/exports are also down from either droughts or too much rain in south africa, and US banned imports from Prince Edward Island (canada~ a couple hundred million lbs a year) due to some kinda potato wart. I would expect taiwan/japan are mostly affected by us potato stuff.

Schiit had another livestream this week where Jason discussed Folkvangr and (I believe) Urd. There are some pictures of both on the Schiit users Facebook group, but will try to link other resources below for non-Facebook users.

    Folkvangr:

    Urd:

I believe there was also a meet at the Schiitr yesterday but haven’t seen anything written about it yet.

I also tuned in. Apparently there will only be 250 Folkvanger available, they will be expensive, and Jason said he is hopeful orders will open up later next week.

Jason also explained that Folkvanger sounds nothing like Valhalla. It will be a very warm, bloomy, romantic OTL type sound. However it will still be detailed. He mentioned if you aren't into that, then don't buy it. Lol.

It's all relative. It's not as OTL bloomy romantic (and warmpoo) as you may think. When I think bloomy, romantic, I think WA2 or Feliks. Folkvanger isn't anything like those at all. Think Valhalla 2 on 'roids all cut. Smooth smooth smooth highs (Valhalla 2 had great mids, but highs could be prickly at times), super clarity (no more Valhalla veil and outtright thickness), and hits like a truck (not since Mjolnir 2 has a Schiit amp hit so hard). Fantastic synergy with Grados (F-cushion) and ZMFs alike. Heck throw in JAR600 too. Those warm and romantic qualities are sublime inner ones, not external outer qualities. More bloomy than Vali 2. Not any more bloomy than any EC tube amp.

Appreciate the descriptors. Jason was pretty short on discussing the sound. :)

@purr1n, do you think the Folkvangr would be a good match for Utopia? Or should one keep waiting for the eventual DSHA-3F v.2?

Folkvanger single-ended input/output only, huh? Definitely not a deal-breaker, and plenty of great amps only provide an XLR-out only for convenience.

For stacking purposes, same footprint as the Gungnir? Or is it Yggdrasil-sized?

I'm all set on amps, but Urd has me salivating.
