If it's some time after June, I'll be back in NY and would be interested.

We could start with something simple like a lunch/dinner or a day hike on the weekend if you guys are interested.

An audio meet would take some more time to plan, and I'll have to find a willing host or commercial space we could rent for a day.

If it's around late July or early August, I'll be in NYC and might be able to make it. ☺️

Anything in the works? Meet up/activity? Or audio meet up.

How many people usually come to these things? How much space does one need to host a audio meet up?

NY peeps: just saw on Steve Gutenberg's YouTube channel that there's a gallery show in Manhattan from 6/29–8/5 that includes a listening room "sculpture" made up of custom built speakers, amplifiers, turntable, etc. It's put together by Devon Turnbull from OJAS. They are supposed to have some scheduled listening events, but for much of the show the system will just be playing selections and you can go check it out.

I'm going to try to get over there sometime during the workday between July 11–22 when my kids are in camp in case anyone wants to join.

He's going to have some really interesting music, too! He got a hold of some Blue Note 15ips tapes to compare to some vinyl remasters, etc. Also playing Eno's Music for Installations on vinyl, continuously for a couple of the days. Sounds like a fun few weeks.

My coworker's building has a lounge room in Long Island City that he can reserve for a day for free. So I'm thinking of taking his generous offer. I'm thinking of doing this on a saturday or sunday, either late august or in september. Who's in? Any date preferences?

Will try to see if I can contact people/vendors to send gear over but seeing as how I've been gone for a while, I don't know who's who, and what's popular nowadays. Will take any recommendations for that as well.

This place looks great and it would be awesome to have a meetup. Thank you for looking into this, @thegunner100.

I'll be out of town for work the weekend of 9/10 and 11, so later in September would work well for me (and would have the advantage of not being so hot). I'm also likely to have ankle surgery in a month's time, so much of August wouldn't work, but I'd be happy to lend a few things even if I can't make it.

I've got a bunch of stuff that might be of interest.* I'm on the wrong side of the Hudson Ocean, though, and I don't have a car right now, so I might not be able to lug too much stuff across two tunnels. If anyone intends to drive in from NJ and would like help with tolls and parking, please let me know!

    * Bifrost 2 --> SW51+ --> HD 600 and DNA Stratus --> HD 600 and HD 800 SDR. I'm using the summer to audition three sets of amps and headphones, which I picked up used (the intention is to keep one of them): Liquid Gold X --> LCD-4, Jot R --> SR1a, and Jot A --> LCD-R.

My schedule is sporadic, so plan on, hopefully I can make it.

As for vendors, I imagine @E_Schaaf & ETA is top of the list...

Hey NYer's! @Vansen is in NYC this week and we're going to have a dinner meetup at Hanoi House this Thursday, July 28th at around 6pm. Anyone interested in joining us? Please let me know, so that we could make a larger table reservation if needed.

Too late to accommodate one more? I'd like to join in if there's an extra seat at the table :)

You are welcome to join! I didn't make a reservation, but there is an opening for 3 at 5:45 that we could reserve.

Just poking in here. I am on LI / NY, but with covid avoided the big shows like can jam. If there are smaller get togethers i would be interested in meeting up. I dont have many friends that are into audio so it would be nice to chat.

The mini meet is looking to be in late September. I'll have a more solid date soon.

We've historically had about 10-20 people during these meets, but I feel like some of the NYers may have moved over the past two years. It is nice to see that there are newer members here though.
