Loaner: Lyr +

I'd like to jump on the list as well if possible, considering Lyr+ as a convenient hp amp/preamp for my desk setup, can compare to Ragnarok 2 as well. I'm in Grand Rapids, MI

 

Update.
Lyr+ is up and running and in good looking condition.

The only thing to note is that the volume knob wiggled off in transit (maybe due to cold weather). All warmed up now and is firmly secured with an indent of sorts. Comes off fairly easily if pulled but shouldnt slide off. Also, no included manual, so had to do some web looking to figure out how to disable the tube mode. Spoiler, its remote controlled on/off only.

Overall, Its a good looking design and I like the new style buttons and volume knob...functionality is quite nice as well.

Time to listen. Will be comparing to dual mono Pietys and potentiallly EC Black Widow if it shows up int time this week.

 

Exact same thing happened to me - cold cold cold doesn't play well with interference fit plastic parts over metal shafts.

 

I'll join this loaner. It's been a second since I've heard any Lyr.

As others have mentioned, I too noticed the knob had moved away from the chassis a bit when I first opened up. Once refit it didn't affect operations while hooked up.

 

Loaner received! No signs of damage. I'll put some hours on it tomorrow.

this is INCORRECT.

per Lyr + faqs:

"Do I have to pull the tube out to switch modes?
No. If you have a tube installed, you can switch between tube and solid state modes via the remote. You can also press and hold the gain switch for 4 seconds, and when you release the button, it will switch modes. With no tube installed, Lyr+ only allows you to use solid state, of course."

this information is NOT in the user manual!

unless the faq's are wrong... Jason, Mike, please, FIX this F*CKING issue!!!

or, your documentation is shoddy (at best), your QC on manuals is schitt, and you are not paying attention to the amp that is one of my aspirational purchases in future.

I thought you held the gain setting similar to the BF2/Yggdrasil+ nos modes.

It will breath dimly on the indicator.

Mike, Jason, anybody@Schitt, please, please, please correct this problem with the documentation.

the power of the inter-webs is such that folks are NOT understanding how this amplifier functions.

you are bound to lose sales if folks think the remote is the ONLY way to switch between tube and mosfet.

please forgive the CAPS, this is as close to a documentation failure i have seen coming form y'all.

off to @Josh Schor ... its now double boxed, so hopefully it holds up a bit better. Note that the volume knob is loose and falls off the pot (arrived in that condition).

 

received amp today, now to figure out to adjust it

 

WTF I cannot get anything to work, nothing is id on the unit or the remote no instructions how the hell do you use this thing. I was going to buy one whats the point. If anyone has a diagram which explains what the buttons are on the unit and the remote and what they do I would be very grateful. nothing changes when holding the buttons
