Interesting design. I wonder how it would deal with warped records?

I love the look. The cartridge on the bottom kind of skeezes me out though. I'm guessing there's a spring (or something springy and flexible) pushing it into the record? That probably gives it some amount of tolerance against some warping on the record. I'd be interested to learn how you set tracking force on this thing.

All the pictures show a clamp on the record labels, I’m guessing they provided the necessary counterforce to the stylus.

I had a parallel-tracking TT back in 1980-something. It wasn't amazing-expensive, but it was intriguing and quite clever. It would do stuff like previous/next track.

The point of mentioning this is to point out the amount of electronic and mechanical complexity that goes into something like this. I peaked inside mine once, and was shocked to find 16 chips (hey, it was '80s) and and optical-mechanical system I could barely understand. I enjoyed owning this thing, but yes, it failed in a few years.

Compare the whole concept with the essential simplicity of a conventional turntable and arm.

This idea is interesting and appears well-thought out. It looks cool, and it has some neat features - like moving between tracks at the push of a button. There is a VTF setting, but if you are a OCD freak like me, you'll miss taking out your little electronic scale and fiddling with the weight on the tonearm. I mean, seriously! It says 2.0gr, but how can I know for sure? Haha...

    Interesting, but not for me!

I wonder what stylus options are available.

I guess the puck that keeps the record from falling off the spindle when playing in an upright position is magnetic?

Internal phono amp? Haha... that's a no go.

This is more of a "lifestyle" product, I guess. Will it impress the ladies? Or, will the Argle Bargle $15,000 turntable and O-Ketsu No Ana JayDE cartridge and tubey-toob-toob phono pre-amp carry more weight? Human behaviorists must weigh in!!

I favour the Argie Bargy semi-auto. With no puck. :D
