They sound quite good but the carry bag is a joke.

Are these worth upgrading from the Amperior? The only comparison to the HD25 I found in this thread is sound stage.

I really like my Amperior for a portable on-ear, but am considering upgrading and the Sine seems like it might be the way to go. Shame about the case/bag.

Maybe but the SINE are very expensive for on-ears and compared to the Amperior.

I will compare them with the Meze 99 Classics soon...

    I think you're right.

Did you have the chance to compare them with the Meze 99 ? I will receive the Walnut Silver version with the larger pads in 2 weeks.

@Tyll Hertsens "I found the Cipher cable slicker than deer guts on a door knob."

F'ing genius. this must be the sentence of the year in headphone reviews!
"deer guts" must be present in all reviews from now into the future.
    :D

How do deer guts end up on a door knob? Tyll take up a side job as a butcher? o_O

Also, way to bury the lead, his SINE review is up on IF...

Cypher cable has more functionality than I would've figured, the persistent EQ is a nice perk... Would be curious to compare battery use vs driving the hp normally out of the same phone.

Looks like Tyll thought the Sine and PM-3 were basically a draw, just depending on what sound signature you prefer.

I don't like these tbh. I found them very uncomfortable for my large head and they sounded really boring to me. Sucked out mids, underwhelming bass (although tight but not enough of it) and tingly highs.

    tbh imo ymmv

I don't doubt that you're accurately describing what you hear, but it's the polar opposite of what I'm hearing, and inconsistent with what I understand to be the consensus view.

Could an LCD-X or LCD-2F owner compare Sine directly to his headphones?

Context: many people anticipated EL8 to be a portable and flashy version of 2F/3F, but it was a completely different kind of beast. Does Sine seem like a portable younger brother to LCD-X to you guys or is it still something weird, closer to EL8 or LCD-4?

To my ears they sound like a portable version of the LCD-2 but at the same time the sound is more 'lively' and fun.

I've only had them for a day, but I like these a lot so far. Soundstage is much larger than the Amperior and the Sine is an improvement all the way around. I wish the bass went a bit deeper, but overall I can't complain. At their largest, they barely fit my big head and I definitely don't have the tight clamping issues I've seen some complain about. In fact, they definitely wouldn't stay on my head when sitting up from a pillow. The pouch has the benefit of making these easy to slip into my briefcase, but I do wish for better protection.

    Welcome to the club ;)

IMO, they are one of the best portable headphones on the market. I will compare them with the Meze 99 soon.

How do these compare against the pm-3, just taking sonics into account?

Tyll compared them in his review.
