Was just informed this morning - three weeks before classes begin - that I've lost not one but two of my three sections I was scheduled to teach in the Fall. The school is 600 students (8%) under last year's enrollment and two full time faculty's upper division courses failed to fill. And since FTF get priority on classes....well...yep. (Thankfully, they couldn't take #3 because I'm the only specialist on faculty. Cold comfort though when your pay gets cut by 2/3. My MLIS program finishes in 8 months and as soon as I can find a full time position they can[insert chain of expletives here]).

Have to pair down even further to provide a little padding. Prices includes either USPS priority mail shipping or UPS ground, at the buyer's choice, but not Paypal fees. Gift or add 3.5%.

    1. SOLD: Mjolnir 2 - $640 shipped. Purchased from Aufmerksam just last week and still in the box. See previous listing here. Price includes either USPS priority mail shipping or UPS ground, at the buyer's choice. I would consider partial trades for a Valhalla 2, Vali 2, or Feliks Audio Espressivo. Need something to listen to, after all. (Sold to Thujone, who's getting one hell of a beefy amp).

    2. SOLD: Sennheiser HD580 - $160 shipped. This one hurts. Selling off a modded HD580 (dynamat added, foam and spider removed, front foam intact, HD600 grills). This unit is in stellar condition with nearly no signs of aging. Grills, headband and earpads were replaced last week with new Sennheiser OEM replacements. Also comes with the standard crappy HD580/600 cable, adapters, and HD580s - which all suck, but I'm including them in for completeness sake. (Sold to JoshMorr, who is just uncanny levels of fast at PMing).

    3. SOLD: RIVA S Portable Bluetooth Speaker - $130 shipped. In excellent condition with all included accessories (charger, pouch etc.). Best sounding bluetooth speaker I've heard - just a great little device. Would love to keep it and will almost certainly buy another down the road when $$$ gets settled back out again. (Sold to Serious, who actually really could use it for traveling further distances than I'll be going in the near future so I don't feel so bad about parting with it.)

PM with any questions or pic requests.

Aww man, sorry to hear that :(. At the very least from what I've heard, you won't lose much downgrading to the Valhalla 2 (I'm still using mine after a year after all). GLWS.

    Sorry man :(

Someone buy the Riva S. It's phenomenal and a surprisingly more musical and neutral follow up to the Turbo X.

Sorry to hear about your issues! I would have done a partial trade with my Valhalla but it looks like I'm too late. :(

Ha, ha, ha! :punk: A regular rogues gallery, for certain. Glad that The Gap model is at the back of the queue, too.

Oh man, looks like you're all set on the Riva. I need to set up a system alert directly to my spine every time you put up a FS listing. Or better yet, give you direct access to my bank account to regularly withdraw and ship me things.

    GLWS. :)

I propose an auction battle to the death between the parties interested in the RIVA S.

Fun fact! The "thumbs up" is believed by some historians to have been the "kill" signal at the conclusion of a gladiator contest. The matter remains in contention, and the gesture likely varied from time/place in any event. Still, it makes sense when you consider the historical context.

As an example, think of the modern "take a hike" gesture. Or perhaps even "up yours." Gives one a sense of the possible flavor.

Here's an article describing one researcher's thoughts on the practice.

I have TWO RIVA Ses at home.

And if you think these are god tier Bluetooth speakers, wait til you hear their bigger stuff. I am selling all my SONOS gear and all two channel systems but my main to transition all the way to their new product line when it drops. It's pretty f'ing amazing. Don is a genius of engineering and Rikki has an amazing vision for the company and their products.

By chance have you ever heard the Devialet Phantom speakers? I'd be curious how they compare to Riva's new bigger speakers.
