I'm trying to steer my 6yr old away from the stupid Ninjago crap, but I register total fail. That Porsche 911 Lego is totally cherry.

Only six. My kids loved Ninjago around that age. They are 11.5 and 8.5 now and grew out of the Ninjago stuff fast.

They are sold out on the Lego site, but the local Lego store had them in stock. People are buying a bunch and selling on Amazon and Ebay for inflated prices. Eventually, Lego figures it out and floods the market, but I wanted to make sure I had one for the time being. Been waiting for this kit since previews of it leaked from a German toy tradeshow.

You can still find them used. Lego flooded the market with them to deter speculators.

Looks pretty cool (but not as cool as one Moth Cicada driver or a HD6X0).

I don't mean to sound like a dick dad. Having a wonderful morning of coffee and building this set with my boy.

No, not at all. I've built plenty of Ninjago dragons and mechas.

I'd rather get this kit, the Mercedes Benz Technic truck, and Boba Fett's Slave One Lego sets before buying a Mutec 3 warmbutt shitsmeared USB fuckifier.

I choked on my coffee reading this one. Edit: with laughter; I choked while laughing.

Damn you rich folks and your LEGO buying skills!
Marv, can I visit you next year when I'm living in California to play with your toys?

some komputer USB to Mutec 3+USB v1.10 firmware, AES into Yggdrasil or it's a failed compare.

prediction: the only SBAF approved warm sound must come from spinning vinyl slabs with diamond headed needles.

    DAY 1

I had no idea of the extent of the awesomeness of the kit. Normally I don't post unboxing photos, but this is a must see.

Here's the inside of the top of the box. A little history of the 911 all around it.
    DSC_2864 (Medium).JPG

Here's my son drooling over it. The parts are in four numbered boxes with an extra box for the wheels and tires.
    DSC_2847 (Medium).JPG

Box 1 with a photo of the motor. Yep, that's the instruction manual. About 600 pages long.

Lego worked with Porsche to develop this kit. They started in winter of 2013.
I wonder how they implemented the paddle shifters.
