Sigh, Jenny Agutter. The object of many teenage "daydreams"...

Pretty sure the Diana is aimed toward audiophiles; it's supposed to "come close" to the Abyss in terms of performance.

Abyss sound + lighter, more comfortable form factor = a win in my book

Even if it has a baby monitor aesthetic.

Totally agree, would be close to the holy grail to have a comfortable Abyss, but yikes...it's hard to get away from the Gucci look imho.

I haven't heard the Diana (which is white ). But for all it's ugliness and burden, it's sibling the Abyss did many things right... sound wise.

Just giving shit on the looks, but would love to hear impressions about these.

Looking at the pictures here, and the title (yes, in that order ...) ... I thought, for a moment you were talking about Diana Rigg. Between her and her successor, Joanna Lumley, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. I didn't know why I thought that, I was only six or seven at the time, but, yeah, I was rapt with attention watching them in the variations of "The Avengers".

Of course, I did a lot of "day dreaming" over Ms. Agutter myself; odd that I cannot name a movie of hers in which she didn't get her kit off - perhaps that's a subconscious choice on my part, though.

Then came infatuations with Lindsey Wagner, all three of the original "Charlie's Angels" ("Saturn 3" is worth watching for Farah alone, even if you're not a Sci-Fi fan). Erin Gray, Linda Carter (don't ask), and ultimately back to Joanna Lumley (in "Sapphire and Steel").

And finally I discovered real girls.

    Or headphones.

What were we talking about, again?

And now Diana Rigg can inspire a whole new generation of young men, albeit ones with a GILF fetish:

    Oh dear ...

Despite having watched all of "Game of Thrones" to date, I had never twigged that was Diana!

As for the Diana headphones ... while I'm interested to see how close to the Abyss they can get, they're not going to have the innate tuneability that the Abyss' distinctive frame offers, and they look extremely silly. I say that in the full knowledge that wearing my Abyss I look a lot more like another of the characters that pervade my childhood (albeit in a rather less erotic sense):

She certainly looks a lot different than she did in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, that's for sure!

    Damnit.

Now I've gone and spilled my "wine".

If you've not seen it, you should watch "The Assassination Bureau". She's wonderfully austere in that ... and perhaps even more "desirable" for it. I swear I was born in the wrong era. Certainly the wrong decade.

One of my top-10-all-time movie picks there, by the way.

Overheard at the Abyss Diana design meeting... "Gentlemen, we are going for ugly here (again), but a much kinder and gentler ugly. Forget S&M and medieval torture devices! As you put pencil to paper I want your thoughts to wander; think about baby powder, soft pillows, white cherubic angels and marshmallows. Think of the scent of a newborn baby's head, think about Mr. Rogers' soft well worn sweater and shoes (though in white of course).... channel all of that into...... Diana!"

There are a great many things you should not want to be seen wearing in public before those headphones...

For those complaining about the white: it will come in two other color schemes. Potentially worse, sure, but hey... you never know!

Personally, I'm glad to see more high-end headphones that aren't trying to look like a grandfather clock or sci-fi headgear or a racecar.

Oh, and "white-white" is just shorthand for "white headband with white cups." Sure, just using *white* as a descriptor would have accomplished the same thing, but this implies the other color schemes will consist of multi-colors.

I'm actually quite curious to see what 'Beach Front' and *especially* 'What's Cool' entail...

I mean who doesn't want what's cool in their lives?

When I post a pic of me wearing my Dianas, you'll all see how DECENT they look on a human bean.

I think I'd prefer them in sparkly pink and purple to "white-white", frankly!

If that turns out to be What's Cool, I'll send my pair on a listening tour. The caveat is you must take a photo of yourself wearing them.
