I think I'll have to agree with 6moons. It's the green pill that Morpheus delivers. Amazing how nice these JBL 3xx can sound.

6 moons is bad poetry but I got the impression that he liked it more than the Adagio. I am evaluating the JBL's..the dac is ongoing. I'll use headphones for that after tidal Muzak has run for a couple of days.

Were you able to fix the 2 broken feet on your unit?

The feet fit on the remaining nylon pegs fairly snug, only the screw tops broke off. I sent a critical email to hifheaven and Sonnet . Dac slid back and forth in the Sonnet box,no foam, no wrap, the outside box was reused, oversized and slit with a razor for new big flaps and had minimal cushioning. It was pretty mushy. I am letting them off the hook cause the dac is wonderful. I just want me loose screws replaced.

I choose the red pill, or is it the blue pill? Waiting for Morpheus...then I'll know...

You might need a "Tool" to find out how "the pieces fit", there is a reason for the "Schism."

alas, Morpheus arrived on 2 broken feet, some 3rd world oem packaging, poorly designed thin cardboard cutout, thin oem box, no foam anywhere, dac slid about, likely on 3 dimensions, no plastic wrap for moisture, will need new feet, no other damage, breaking in with pi2aes now....so far, so good...

my aliexpress mohair earpads are perfect on my he6se, thick and cushy. Why are mfrs making such thin pads now anyway? ZMF, Hifiman, etc.

Good point, thin pads may be used to minimize pad impact on sound, I have moderate hearing loss at 8 khz. I am already missing the highs. I doubt these would reflect any sound at all, bass is still good because I still get the sound direct to my ears. My guess is there is less interplay with the pads.

Larger interiors help get more of the speaker exposed too. Just as resolving as either hifiman pad, Being slightly further from the driver with more driver exposed can't be bad, can it?

Just how does one repair scratches in black anodized aluminum, Sharpie?

Fix it on the outside with Sharpie or inside with wabi sabi.

@GoodEnoughGear gets plus points for wabi-sabi, haha. I rather like the look of worn (but not filthy) gear myself, it adds more character than it deducts from resale value.
