@rhythmdevils Thanks! Unfortunately my main system is balanced out only and IIRC these are hardwired SE.

@Merrick Very easy to reterminate to balanced because the stock cable is like the HD650 cable, both channels remain separate cables that are glued together.

@Syzygy not so much unhappy; more like "hmm I trust rhythmdevils's ears; there must be something to good orthos" and thus curiousity. Not necessarily looking to replace anything I have haha!

@Skyline absolutely. I especially found it fascinating that they tried to follow it up with a bigger ride (Son of Beast), but that ride was plagued with issues and eventually dismantled.

Haha yeah, I rode Son of Beat once. The ride was so rough that my restraint got locked down on me way too hard during the ride and pretty much crushed me. I had a headache the rest of the day and was grateful that I was still able to have children in my later years. It was very much in doubt in the aftermath of that ride.

I'm trying to look it as a high-quality switcher I could use now with a solid state preamp I could build around for quite a while.

I always seem to enjoy more at the end of the day. I'm sure there's good science around this, but for me it's a combination of work getting out of my head, quieter family environment, the house fans not running so hard, and usually a decent cocktail.

I had to replace output tubes because I was dumb and dropped one. Rectifier went bad, replaced that too. Input tube still completely fine.

Being the same price, would you take DNA Starlett over ecp T4 when it comes to driving Utopia?

Synergy plays a large part. There are some headphones that the Jot 2 doesn't sound that fantastic with IMHO. I can see how some wouldn't like the Jot 2, but it's definitely not a bad amp

My sympathies. 2nd dose knocked me out for about a day, back to 80%(ish) the 2nd day & fine after that. I hope you're back to relative normal in no time.

First dose: felt very ill overnight, poorly for 24 hours.

Second dose: Nothing. Not even a sore muscle. Complete anticlimax!
