Have you ever heard of the band Vainaja? Their albums are really dynamic and well recorded. I recently discovered them thanks to Metal-fi.com and now I'm a fan. You can check them out on Bandcamp to see if they are your cup of tea.

I'm glad you found solace in music. I find the same when trying to get temporary respite from this crazy world.

And even if it's "clean" it can still be harsh, fatiguing, or even just crap music. Some things are more important than superficial cleanliness.

@Deep Funk Actually that question is a running joke on one of the prog rock boards that I frequent. I wouldn't compare Prince to one genre. He transcended genre, IMO.

Listened to Prince's "Bat Dance." Now I must have that soundtrack. Eclectic, tight, groovy and inventive.

"Batdance" is easily the weakest track on the Batman soundtrack (not to attack "Batdance", but rather to talk up the rest of the record). I was actually stunned by how good it was. It's much funkier than The Black Album, probably his funkiest record since 1999. I used to think his classic run ended after Lovesexy, but now I'm including Batman with that.

Sadly, his classic run definitely ends with Graffiti Bridge.
