Pairs well with the VC too. For me I like to match my Universe Lambskin pads with the amorphous transformers, while the Be2 with the nickel ones. Instrument separation on this amp was a wow moment for me when jumping from Asgard 3.

There is some speculation about the loaner tour dac2541 having an issue with the SE outputs. Will test that when the specific unit arrives here for testing. My personal unit is now at 95% measurements complete and hope to post in a day or three.

For Moode and Volumio, you do not need to hook the Pi to ethernet for initial config. By default, both broadcast their own SSID when booted. You connect your computer's wifi to that SSID, then log into Volumio/Moode and move the wifi to your home's wifi network. Pi will reboot and then you can switch your computer back to your home's wifi and manage Vol/Moode like any other device on your home WLAN.

I can kind of see why you'd want a Soekris rather than a Bifrost 2 with a 6XX...just a tad drier and less warmth and all that. I personally was never able to get into 6XX, despite all the acclamation its received here. Just too sleepy/slow for me, I think, but maybe I just haven't heard it on the right system.

I will 2nd @Vtory when it comes to Auteur tube pairings. When I was tube rolling the LP back with my first Auteur I hated a lot of the typical favorites (Reflektor Holy Grails, Amperex Bugle Boy D-Getters, etc), just dull and lifeless. In that case, some NOS Telefunkens did the trick, but that is obviously a whole different family of tubes.

Not necessarily - I'm going to sell a couple other headphones, and perhaps the BHA-1 down the line, but I would like to hear how the Verite pairs with the BHA-1 first. Its just that my sense from reading various posts on SBAF is that the Verite pairs very well with tube amps, and I historically tend to prefer tubes myself.

I haven't seen much talk about tubes for the SW51+ in the various threads about it. From all I've heard, it sounds pretty damn good with the stock tubes.

Pretty much any European tube will sound the same on the SW51, warmer and fuller. Stock tubes are still pretty good, just a touch lean. I also prefer the SW51 to the CTH, especially for Focal, but honestly CTH does a good job.
