Joanna Newsom, think of Kate Bush with a harp. Also dig into the Decca archives. The harp is one of the most expressive instruments and talented harp players are rare.

Tried Newsom - can't stand her voice. Sorry. Some good stuff in Decca archives. Do you have anything you like with harp only (or maybe a cello or bass at most in the background, i.e. very minimal)?

Marisa Robles. Also check my post in the Classical Music thread. I mean this Amy Turk's rendition of Bach's masterpiece, I am really enjoying it.

Serious question - why do so many people seem to have such an aversion to masks and other people wearing them? It's just a piece of cloth...

Before, I'd only been actually in the chair when the dentist was drilling, but here, I can go in the surgery with my wife. The dentist firmly told me stand further away, for my own safety, but I'd already got one lungful. Not nice. And that was just ordinary vaporised tooth, without added virus.

Small reduction in risk to others, but little protection to self --- is how I understand it. Just a bit better than wide-open mouths.

How do you get the smell out of (cheap no-name) hockey pucks? Washed them, left outside for a week w/ max exposure, still smell horrible.

I will say the Czech-Slovakia pucks were better than the Canadian pucks when I was a youngster. The rubber was a tiny bit softer on the textured sides, making stick handling tricks easier.

Realistic can include (but limited to or requiring) any of the following but I realize it's still a game. Analogy would be like Forza or Gran Turismo series vs average arcade racer:

        - Projectile trajectory (maybe even more detailed factors like projectile choice, temperature, atmospheric densities, etc.)
        - Realistic damage and impact - ex shot in leg = can't run well

      3. fp627
        fp627
        - Stamina, strength, and skill factor into running, gun handling, etc. - ex: spec ops veteran is going to use/handle guns better than average 3rd world joe
        - Don't screw up guns for "variety and balance" - shotguns turn into ant farts at 20+ yards in most games
        - Magazine management
        - Guns will jam and you have to fix it, etc.
        - On and on

I've had power tubes fail somewhat spectacularly: amp on for hours, then all of a sudden redplating and large increase in distortion, then loud honk noise, all in the five seconds it took me to get over to the amp and kill it. Happened twice over probably 5 or 6 sets of EL34s/6CA7s, after thousands of hours of use.

m17 - pins were cleaned with deoxit before use. This particular tube was still "lit up" but was not as bright as the other input tubes would be the entire time. I figured this is just tube variation as some tubes I have almost don't light up at all.

I'll second @GoodEnoughGear in recommending Stubb's...I've been really enjoying it lately, and I'm a picky Southerner when it comes to BBQ sauces. It's not as good as some of the local sauces back in Alabama, but for something you can get outside the South it's incredible.

RP is generally decent for price IMO, just most RP stuff doesn't align with my preferences as well, hence OK.

Haven't had the MC Espada before. Can't comment on cigar headaches - I've only gotten a headache once from cigars b/c it wouldn't stay lit and I had to draw on it like a vacuum cleaner (and I would say I'm generally more prone to headaches than the average adult male).

While this is nothing new (and not a huge surprise), still annoying that most items that actually has substantial value are sub-claused at very artificially low limits.

Maybe it's not comparable, but about how much do you guys have to pay for insurance on this stuff (PM is fine, I get sharing this info on a public forum may not be ideal)?

If it's under your homeowner's, your deductible may apply. If so, 1% of the value of your house in loss is still pretty much you're SOL.

That's one reason an inland marine style policy is nice (it has another name too, but I forgot it)…it's cheaper, you can move the stuff around to friends' houses, etc., it's still covered. Photographers use it to cover their camera gear.

Again, nostalgia loaded. Like Graeter's and Jeni's is objectively better ice cream, but not what I grew up with. For the price, I'd rather have the HEB store brand ice cream over Blue Bell, but ultimately I dunno if ice cream is something I want to chase the dragon for.

Graeter's is pretty good but slightly too sweet for me - had it a few times when I went to Cincinnati. Not worth the trouble of getting it out here (from Cinci) IMO. Have also had Blue Bell and agree - overrated, but still pretty good - good enough for nostalgia lenses.

Have an upcoming (family) celebration and with things the way they are, were going to sit at home together and eat ice cream.

Curious - what do you use?
