HE6se mods are slow b/c I'm too scared to mess something up... Considered opening up the HD6xx for mods once but stopped before I even got the cups off the band due to creaking/groaning and part felt like could break (granted I wasn't that motivated to mod). etc...

Forcing myself through HE6se mods at last though.

Most of my hobbies are outdoors and/or can potentially go bad in <1 sec (like riding a liter bike fast margins of error) but I don't mind mods if I know what they are, how they work, etc. Or even if we remove personal risk w/ a PC - I don't mind tweaking speeds, voltages, timings, etc. at risk of slightly to completely damaging parts that each cost more than HD6xx, etc.

DNA Stellaris - Best headphone amp, especially from a reference or purity perspective that I've heard to date despite a few things not matching personal preference.
EC Af + Cavalli LC - I just like the sound of these 2 amps. Studio Jr was pretty close to Af based on memory but slightly prefer Af.

@Superexchanger I have some pretty random dreams. I like some cats but I'm also varying degrees of allergic to about 2/3rds of cats I've seen.

Either that or knowledge that cats, mostly feral, have started to threaten various penguin populations has built up a subconscious resentment of cats in my life.

Cats work hard. They just don't show it. Respect the nap. (I grew up with cats. The amount of vermin they kill and/or destroy is not shabby. When they share their prey with you, your cat likes you.)

Going to guess the knife skills was rolled into one of the cooking courses. Yes, majorly important to where I'd say it's a game changer in the kitch.

I have taken other cooking classes before but have experienced a large variance in what is offered in each cooking class... didn't want to drop $180 on courses I may not like.

If you mean Intercontinental ballistic missile there is a high chance it will not be delivered and there is a very high probability to receive a thank you gift back. So no, definitely not reliable.

Yes, although I was using USPS flat rate quotes which delivers to most places in Russia, including Novosibirsk (which IIRC is close to Mongolia). It was $80-100 which for how far + remote that is from CA relatively speaking, I actually thought it was a pretty fair... granted +$100 is definitely going to make a good deal not as good of a deal.

Yep, hence why I made this post in advance.

My dream setup from before I joined SBAF was Cavalli LC + EC Af... and it stayed that way until I heard (and purchased) the Stellaris... but after owning Stellaris for a while, there were still moments where I wanted both the Af and LC... Didn't think I'd be lucky enough to get two discontinued amps this year though.

In practice it's probably similar in terms of usefulness to clay or plasticine or blutac. Probably a solid choice for mass loading and resonance control, maybe wouldn't flake as much as clay

When sugru is set, it is pretty-much silicone. It's damned expensive, even in its home country, UK. It has an advertised shelf-life of only six months which can be extended if you keep it in the fridge.
My last: making a "thumbdrive" by fixing an sd card in an OTG card reader. When I changed my mind, I sliced it all off with a scalpel. Can't do that with epoxy!

2A3 power tubes are still quiet / non-microphonic, but starting to get a little scratchy graininess in a few songs-are they starting to go?
      1. fp627
        fp627
The above also only happens with a few songs, but never happened before + other power tubes do no exhibit this behavior on same songs.

Or is it just "tubes" and it passes soon? Tubes were purchased from reputable vendor, measured new, still sound great otherwise.

It may just be the song. Try playing on a different amp and listen for the same problems. I’m always worried is it the tubes or headphones, but it always turns out that it is the recording.

Tried a few different tube + amp/gear combos - sound went away with some combos, not with others. It was pretty low level so I guess it's never too late to discover imperfections in a recording that may have been previously masked by a particular tube... that or b/c most of my tubes are popular, old, and expensive I got stuck with someone else's worn out tubes that somehow measure fine.

I tried one other one that as far as I can tell didn't introduce noise or haze originally from @m17xr2b. But yes, the 2nd one I'm trying now introduces a fair amount of noise. I didn't think adding a few small wires between the pins of a tube and the socket would introduce as much noise as it did.

Noise in adaptors is a new one for me, two causes I can think of for just general noise in an input:
-dirty pins on tubes or adaptor
-cold solder in one of the wires
